    sorry for the vagueness, durvasa.

we had this discussion before i think except it was Yao and Bynum.

but i think Yao is more skilled and put it in the right situation can be very effective as far as punishing the other team and winning games. however,
Howard (when not playing Yao) puts up great numbers. something like 20 and 13? i cant remember and dont hav time to look it up rite now.

Howard has more success (as of now) against most NBA teams.

Please remember: NBA is a business. In terms of $$ generated (and impact around the world), I would rank Yao above all these centers.

Could you list the reasons why you think Yao is better than a prime Zo?

for those chinese fans, there needn't be any reason to love yao. their love for yao is even more constant than diamonds, it will never get detected even if yao sucks.

You know you sound like an idiot, right?

I'm sure there are a lot of chinese fans out there whose knowledge dwarfs your own.

If he goes deep in the playoffs, then he'll be consider the #1 center of today.

if ur talking about chinese market aside... then yeah, prolly. if yao was younger it would be different but to have someone like howard blocking and boarding is a huge asset. and the biggest difference for me is that oward is able to beat the top tier teams convincingly.

so would u rather hav someone who can beat most nba teams and the top ones or someone who is injury prone, can beat certain players but struggles against fronting and is still learning how to rebound/box out properly?

i love yao but thats a no brainer for the rockets if that offer was ever available.

but i would really like to see a mcgrady/hayes for howard/lewis trade.

    it would look like this:

    yao/mutombo/howard
    scola/landry/dorsey
    battier/artest
    lewis/wafer/white
    lowry/brooks

and we would three-peat b4 yao, battier, and lewis retire in houston.

    alright! yay!
