Good ol' Nick. Truly amazing, considering he was a decent free-throw shooter, and a good three-point threat. And how perfect that his name rhymed with "Brick". He never did recover from that moment.

alot of great finishes but true rocket fans know its the SAMPSON shot. I mean how many ticks were on the clock? It was less than a second and he just flipped it up, wasn't even designed.

That shot was epic, it took us to the finals. Nobody expected us to be there. Go Rockets!

i also voted for Kiss of Death. the name alone is so great and the fact he actually turned and blew a kiss at the suns bench to give it such a great name is epic. as others have said, sampson's shot was luck and we were up 3-1. while i didn't see it, i still don't think i'd put it over Kiss of Death if i had.

    second title

the game was tied. which may have actually made it worse b/c he took it with so much time remaining (think clyde in game 6 against utah for reasons not to do that in a tie game). however, since i thought horry's pass was about to fly out of bounds, i was so relieved elie caught it that he was already shooting before i could think of the ramifications of it and at that point all i could do was hold my breath to see what happened. since it swished, it's a legendary shot, and like i said the fact he added the kiss to make it all the more memorable is just perfect. the fact it capped another huge comeback against the suns is even better.

it's amazing how easy it is to think Clutch City came from '95. that year just seemed so much more magical. in '94 we had 2 easy series (portland and utah) and as clutch as the suns series was, we got the lead back 3-2 before facing elimination in game 7. in '95 every series was just so awesome. huge comeback on utah, huge comeback on phoenix, dream's slaughter of drob in the wcf to make that series great, and then the coronation with a sweep. but mad max and the 3rd quarter of game 3 against phoenix in '94 is where clutch city all started. damn those were some good years.

I'm guessing at least MOST who aren't voting for Ralph didn't see it. Too good..too crazy, against the one of the all time great teams.

I'd rank it up there with Game 3 vs the Knicks. Not an elimination game, just a standout, thrilling game.

No game is above the Kiss of Death yet. It could happen, but that was the best game (finish) in Rox history, bar none.

The stage matters an awful lot to me. First round, not a do-or-die game, not a series winner, no legendary performance.

It was a fantastic game, thrilling game, and was major, to be sure. McGrady and Yao were stellar, no bones about it.

So, stakes nowhere near high enough for this to crack my top ten.

    Doesn't mean I'm not ecstatic.

Agree, most probably didn't see it or not old enough like us geezers. :D

It doesn't mean we didn't see the Kiss of Death, but come on the Sampson shot is something you remember from your childhood days, and you will live w/ it forever growing up. The Kiss of Death is definitely up there, my 2nd favorite Rocket moment!

tmacs game 2 winner ranks 4th on that list.

1.mario won game 7 with his shot.

2.sam won a finals game with his...

3.ralph was a series winner too i think. if not, then they did go on to win.

4.tmac may help the rockets go on to win this series so if they do, it will rank 4th.

5.dream's tip was clutch but we swept the magic. if he didn't tip it in we still win a championship.
