My parents live in Bay Oaks. They moved there about two years ago from Bay Forest. I went to the lovely Clear Lake High School. Luckily, I escaped and now live in the Houston Heights.
Moe-- my family moved there in April of 1986, when I was almost 12, and my parents still live there. You got out at the right time-- I don't know if you've been there recently, but Kingwood's population has outgrown its infrastructure. I thought it was a really nice place to grow up, 10 years ago, but when I visit now I'm struck by crowded it is.
rocketman95- john bryan cahill did, in fact, go to UT. I don't know if he worked with a law firm, but I do know that he is currently in law school at Pepperdine in malibu, so it's not altogether unlikely that he might have worked somewhere in a law-related field. I don't know jennifer johnson, but the name sounds familiar. sorry, that just had to be said. actually, I am trying to remember if that might be the name of someone j.b. might have dated? do you know these folks?
I think I do, I think we worked together at Scott, Douglass, & McConnico. Jennifer was in the band...she broke my heart my sophomore year.
so you think you worked with both john bryan and jennifer? if jennifer is not the name of a girl that j.b. dated, then I do not know her, but I am sorry that she broke your heart all the same. "they're all sisters, will." but that's crazy if you knew john bryan. I'm actually much better friends with his older sister amber than I am with him. she and I graduated the same year. but I've known j.b. since he was probably about 8 years old. random piece of useless trivia: the Dexter Freebish hit song "Leaving Town" was written about john bryan cahill's older sister, amber.
No, I met Jennifer my 10th grade year...haven't spoken to her in years. I'm pretty sure I know Cahill...did everyone call him that?
Does anybody else live near or around the Horse Track, Jersey Village area? I live off Fairbanks N Houston. Disease, where do you live? I'm a graduate of Jersey Villge '01. I'm riding the Selvin Young Bandwagon when he plays at UT.
When I was in H-Town about a month ago I heard some people calling Pasadena "Stinkadena", why is that? Also what are some bad parts of Houston in terms of crime, poverty, etc.?
She's answering Diseased Monkey's question about which dorm she lives in. They call in Stinkadena because it stinks.
There are some sulfur plants but the main reason is because many of the refineries in the Houston area are located in Pasadena. As a result, it smells stinky quite often.
Well, I am a little behind. I live in the ghetto East Houston in the North Shore area, west of the schandalous Channelview (remember the cheerleader mom???). I graduated from North Shore Senior High, class of 2000!!! I work on Kirby and 59, just less than a mile from the Compaq Center
i was born in channelview (tidelands hospital, but its closed now) and lived in north shore when i was little. GHETTO!=)
How bizarre; my father-in-law is doing some work at NASA and staying at some Coporate Apts on Space Center; I was raised in Camino South and my parents still live there. After living in San Diego, New York, Houston, Austin, Lubbock, Colorado, Newport Beach, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Woodland Hills, we are happy to be back home and settled in AUSTIN.
