I get mine from BBC, NPR, NY TIMES, MSNBC, and CNN. I do watch Fox when I need a laugh at what passes for journalism. Though lately CNN has been pretty awful, especially Aaron Brown. Are there any anchormen who don't pepper the stories with their own opinions? BBC seems the most balanced and least sensationalized of all the sources I check.
Sorry, need some place to vent. Just found out they cancelled the DC Marathon this Sunday, because so many runners called in and said they did not feel safe. More than likely, it's people who realize they aren't ready to run a marathon and are trying to get their money back. I've been training five frickin' months for nothing! I'm pissed. BTW, they aren't even giving the money back. They're just applying it to next year's race. That doesn't sound quite right to me.
CNN -- after their coverage of the first Gulf War, I figure they're the ones to watch...though I did watch a little ABC last night, too. but on a normal day, i read the Chronicle (if i have time)...and check drudgereport during the day at work.
Internet sources (mainly), my command (bits and pieces heard there that don't make news, sometimes major info), and FOX when that fails. CNN if FOX is having a commercial break.
Dude, that sucks! I'm sorry man. Try to come to Houston for the Houston Marathon next year. They're running it the same day of the Super Bowl! I'm hoping I'll be able to make it... That will be one interesting day!
Sorry for the same sorta Poll I started...I never saw this thread. Damn, I'm gettting senile in my old age.
It's hard to listen to liberal media now a days... When I'm in H-Town...I watch that 24 hr. Houston news channel... Now that the war has started, I'll probably watch a lot of PBS, no BS, just the news...
Interesting strategy. I suppose that will give all the runners an extra motivation to finish quickly so they can get hom in time to see the game. On the subject, you should have done check boxes instead of radio buttons since so many people check multiple sources of news. I mostly rely on 3 sources: cnn.com, NPR, and clutchcity. I think the BBS is the best because you don't worry if it has a bias one way or another -- everyone shows their bias and each goes their own direction. You find the truth somewhere in between.
I've been flipping around all morning. I can't watch Rather anymore. He lost all his credibility after that bj he gave Saddam a few weeks ago. Fox News was the first to have pictures of the attack that started up again a few hours ago while other had nothing. Some just quoted Reuters news service. I'll probably just flip around all day.
LOL -- it's true. I turned on NPR's Morning Edition today only to find out they had changed their hourly theme music to sound like some kind of military march. WTF?? They were the last people I expected to succumb to war fever. It took me months to recover when All Things Considered changed up their theme music a couple years ago. I may never recover from this one.
