I read a book by Shana Swan called "Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, Threatening Sperm Counts, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race" that really opened my eyes. She does not mention the word "transgender" once, but that's exactly what its about. Basically chemicals and contaminants are causing endocrine disruption during pregnancy leading to more masculine women and feminine men. In other words the rise of transgender folks makes sense from a scientific perspective. That said Jordan Peterson also makes a great deal of sense in that it's a social contagion. "Losers" in high school are looking for ways to feel special. I'm not sure where the line is. Men with a full beard wearing a damned dress I guess. That's clearly mental illness.

The right has people following little boys and girls into restrooms to make sure they're using the right restroom. You follow a child into a restroom you're a sex offender. I find it silly when people pretend like they are championing equal rights for trans people as if they do not already have equal rights. The problem is trans people are trying to get more than equal rights, they are trying to get SPECIAL rights...right to be in a women's restroom even though you have a dingaling, right to compete in women's sports when you are not a woman. This is not a fight for equality, this is a fight for unequal, special treatment. Nobody is denying trans people of equal rights, they can be trans if they want, marry who they want, buy what they want, sit where they want, live where they want.

You're correct on this one. The liberal retort of "well, priests are groomers, too" is just as disingenuous as claiming that all homosexuals and trans people are grooming children to sexually abuse them, too. While I am unfamiliar with this Arizona law, and think it might harm children at first blush, I don't know enough to cast a wide net and say that every priest in the Mormon church is a pedophile. You're also right that transgender people have equal protection under the 1964 Civil Rights Act as of 2020. Legally speaking, they've won on the federal level. What's debated now deals with the cultural place of transgender people, not their civil liberties.

So I brought up another group trying to get special rights and not just social acceptance. Sorry if a major Christian denomination is trying to carve out something for themselves. You can be sure other denominations are watching intently.

The post I was responding to in that comment mentioned that the Left wants "equality" for trans people, I was addressing that point specifically.
And you made they claim they want "SPECIAL rights".... Likewise, I brought up an example of a group wanting "SPECIAL rights" which was more than just "equality". However, the ability to decide when to involve law enforcement seems like a different "SPECIAL right" than sports competition and bathroom privileges. This always seem to fall back to conservatives being obsessed with someone else's genitalia. Seems like "clergy privilege" is far more impactful, but I don't have this obsession with transsexuals.
Ok.....if you would like to start a thread on clergy privilege, please do so. I will contribute my opinion that there should be no such thing, especially when it comes to abuses against children. The rest of what you are saying is just circular talk.
The whole sports issue was reaffirmed under the scope of the 2021 Title IX ruling. Cons who are against natal males competing in womens comps should take it up with Roberts.
It's just interesting how much of a big deal sports competition and bath privileges have become for the conservative when we have much bigger issues.... These are the "SPECIAL rights" you mentioned that have your world in uproar...... the ability to compete in a sport and the ability to use a restroom. I keep hearing it is about the children but y'all are going after adults too.
