What makes it even more comical is when you throw one back they cry wolf and will act like you threw the first stone(insult), such a glass house mentality
Stupid post is stupid. For one, none of the guards are 6’6. McDaniels is a backup and is 6’9. Tari deserves more than McDaniels. And Alp is better than Turner. Turner is an always hurt overpaid role player.
Never heard of a 3 and D center until now..Sounds like a role player that plays under 20mpg.. But are those 1 or 2 threes per game gonna make that much difference? .. If so, Indiana would be contenders with they way some of yall gassing him up ... I'm sure he'd be great on a loaded team but here , I think alot of threads would be made about him being overrated or disappointing.. Just my opinion
I disagree. If I'm talking to a troll who is intentionally ignorant, I might insult him and his progeny. It will be a last resort, but one of the other person's making.
I think you took that a little too seriously but rarely do people think outside the box. So let me explain, what I was referencing was a center who can play REAL defense in the paint and who can step out and hit the 3. I was being sarcastic but when you think about it....its a 3 and D Center. He's a threat from beyond the arc, so that will spread the court more for our guards. I think that's what this team needs. We are lacking a real defensive post presence and an additional 3 pt shooter. And as for Jayden McDaniels I think he is a hidden gem. Most people don't know just how talented he is....there are a lot of young players that are getting limited playing time.
He just want to downgrade Rockets and ruin the finances because he can't stand Alpi in Rockets jersey. Alpi plays $3.5M/year when Turner looking for 10 folds. A second year Alpi is good enough to match 8th year Turner while an 8th year Alpi would play cat-and-mouse with 2nd year Turner. His objection for Alpi comes from either lack of basketball understanding or race/american elitism/american insularity (whatever you call). May be both.
I watched McDaniels against Clippers tonight. He was the reason together with A.Rieves why Wolves lost. He played 36 minutes, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 0/3 3 pt, 27% fg overall.. Forget NBA, He was not good enough for any European competition. As he can't be that bad every game I checked his stats and compared with Tari: J.McDaniels: 6'9", 10.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.4 apg, 36% 3pt, at 30 mpg T.Eason 6'8", 8.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.8 apg, 35% 3pt, at 18.6 mpg T.Eason per 30: 13.7 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.3 rpg So, JMcDaniels is a certain downgrade if you compare with Tari Eason. His FT % 77.1, worse than Tari's 85.7. The only thing JMcDanies has plus is he is 1" taller. Tari has a supestar quality where JMcdaniels will be an ignorable player.Tari's first year stats is better than his 3rd year. And some people are very happy to stack Rockets with mediocre players such as JMcDaniels, Myles Turner,... I don't know what is their agenda, why they hate Rockets that much, why possible championships with our "holy quartet" (JGreen+Sengun+Bari+Tari) is so scary for them.Can not understand.
This is why you go after Myles Turner. He's able to score at all three levels and he can command the paint on the defensive end.....we don't have that!
So do you still want McDaniels over Tari after all explanation or not? Are you going to reinstate Tari in your suggested list or not?
If you noticed in my original post, I stated that the Rockets identity is starting to become that of a DEFENSIVE TEAM, so the more DEFENSIVE players you have, the better. I'm looking at McDaniels more for his defense, than his offense with the ability to hit the 3 at a good rate. I think he's consistently a 35% 3pt shooter. If we have Green, Porter, Smith and Turner....We do not need another person who is going to require shots, we just need someone who prides themselves on the defensive end and who can score when needed. THAT'S MCDANIELS! As for Tari, look at his background and how he plays. I can make a strong case that he flourishes better when he comes off the bench. How hard he play and the effort he gives, I think he would be better served as a bench player.....only time will tell. But I want McDaniel to do, just what he does here;
Knew you would respond to that. But, all jokes aside. Kessler is a much better defender and a lot higher upside. Turner is a joke
Any direction where KPj is in the starting rotation is the wrong direction. No team will get anywhere with a player like that getting significant minutes. The off-season should be entirely centered around improving our *starting* PG play both through the draft and free agency. It's actively limiting our two cornerstones at the moment. I'm alright with Sengun off the bench but not for Myles Turner. Alpy will get benched for someone like Embiid, Adebayo or Wemby. Jabari will never see the bench until he's 36.
I wouldn’t listen to anything HLM/Ballgame says. He’s the most biased person on this board. And his takes are usually pretty terrible. Turner is not the guy for this team, he’s played 2 ish full seasons out of 8. He’s going to want a big contract and outside of two seasons he’s a 33% shooter from 3. That isn’t enough to warrant what he’s going to get paid. Jayden McDaniels? Lmao. Stop it. Also, stop lying about dudes heights
I liken KPJ to a young Chauncey Billups, he couldn't find a home, NOBODY wanted him until he found he begin to mature and find his niche and if you look at Chauncey's numbers at no point in time were they ever better than KPJ's. People forget the game winners and last second shots KPJ made last yr. This yr is different because he's evolving his game to fit in Jalen more so. .....WHICH IS WHAT DOC RIVERS SAID, THAT HE IS SLOWING DOWN. I like the Postgame Interview he game after the last game where he said, Jalen relied on him to playmake and do all of the PG duties LAST YR, now they are sharing it. The more they develop that Chemistry, the better both will become. People clamor for a True PG but what if the CHEMISTRY isn't there between him and Jalen? What if he takes the ball out of Jalen's hands more now that Jalen is starting to develop as a playmaker? Jalen has built chemistry with KPJ....I think it's now about them adding Jabari to their mix. Some times, you have to leave well enough alone. As for Myles Turner, I've stated my case....He would fit perfectly.
Myles Turner will be a likely target this offseason, which means I think they should go ahead and pursue him ahead of the deadline. The salary matches up with Gordon, and we have players in Bruno and a Garuba that can help the Pacers in whichever direction they decide to go (retool vs. rebuild). As it stands right now, I think Turner is better than Sengun, so I have no problem moving Sengun to the bench and allowing Turner to start and reevaluating in a few years. But I really think that each player’s strengths would allow them to play on the floor at the same time. Let Sengun handle post ups and work his baby hooks while Turner stretches things out on the perimeter. Let Turner handle the interior defense and help keep Sengun out of foul trouble. This would move Jabari to SF, but I don’t think that would be any problem for him. He can defend the position and is going to depend on others to create for him on offense. There aren’t going to be a lot of options in free agency. They might as well move early and get a trial run with Turner. Try different lineups and see if he’s a player you think would fit going forward. It’s a rare chance to get a trial run on a player where you’ve got nothing to lose.
Right now, Alp and Turner there’s not much difference. Alp is probably a little better all around. Turner offers more shot blocking and can shoot the 3, albeit not as good as his numbers this year indicate. Alp is a lot younger and has a much higher upside than Turner. I do think that they can play together, which is a plus. But still, Turner is not worth what he’s going to be paid
