I won't worry too much about this, his touch will come back soon. Do you guy notice that Yao has less turnovers this 2 games? This is a good sign.

Don't get me wrong. I am not really YOF. I was replying a guy who bashed Yao tonight. Nothing against Tmac. He is the best.

I dont see any difference between yao or tracy. they both got there respective strengths and weaknesses. there both our franchise players. we'll go as far as those 2 take us.

Can you find a single player with as many years of experience as a starter in the NBA who hasn't had a 2 straight games shooting as badly or even worse than these 2 games by Yao?

you guys are overblowing this. Bad thread!

C'mon, Yao still had 20/12 on his off night, and playing Ben Wallace, a 4-times defensive player of the year, someone who got paid just as much as Yao ($15 MM/year) as a defensive specialist.

You guys are unbelievable! I'm gonna give you many eye rolls.

He is scoring a lot on turnaround jumpers, so what? You are on the same boat with Barkley, 26 points that are not "dominant points". Define what is a "dominant point" please. 26 point is 26 point, as long as you are getting it efficiently, who cares how you do it.

If anyone can score 26 every game with a +50% efficiency, that is called dominant. No coach in the NBA would not try to stop a player like that, and when you force the opponent to change their game plan, that is dominant.

For the players that you mentioned, I don't believe they didn't have a mini slump when they hit -40% for a couple of games. Does that makes them mentally weak? You are just throwing out the labels that has been attached to Yao from day one, soft and weak. For a guy like Yao who has been labeled as a bust the moment he came into the league, there is no way he could be like this if he is weak minded.

Tell me what Shaq's production history is with Ben Wallace on him. Then maybe we'll talk.

even though I hate seeing Yao having an off night, but I just loved it tonight to make sure that everything Barkley says is wrong..he said "Yao should really explode this game", guess what happens? exactly the opposite (but hey , 20 and 16 aint bad) ... I think everytime we play on TNT, players watch the pregame and halftime show to hear what the chuckster has to say and do the exact opposite to make him look r****ded..

    its a combination of:

    Playing against superior defenses
    slumps happen
and, the rockets just finished a four games in five nights, and since then have had a game every other day. Usually after a four/five spurt you get at least two days off.

Why don't you look up Shaq's production with Ben Wallace, and see what they are in comparison? Maybe then you should talk.

Ok, you got me. I am curious enough to look up last year playoffs conference final between Detroit and Miami. Since Shaq was just focusing on playoffs, his production should be better, right?

    Well, not bad: pts rebounds
    Game 1 14 14
    Game 2 21 12
    Game 3 27 12
    Game 4 21 9
    Game 5 19 6
    Game 6 28 16

Average of 21.6 and 11.5 rebounds.

    What do you think?

If yao can average 26points and 10rebounds in April 2007, I will call that dominant. Personally I think yao has reached his peak i.e. 22/10!
Of cos I wish yao can be dominant because that will lead to rockets success!

All players will have mini slump! But some players will continue to shoot to get out of slump or attack the rim to get to the lines. But for yao, one can clearly see his confidence is shaken. Dont tell me you cant feel it!

Again I m bashing yao, is just that this is how I feel about yao, a second tier big men like Ewing, Robinson but not dominant big men like hakeem or shaq!

I seriously don't get it how in the world you can see he isn't confident... maybe you have a degree in psychology or what. He is taking all the good shot, he is not hesitant, his shot is just not falling and he is doing exactly what he is supposed to do, to shoot out of the slump.

Seriously, he has been shooting over 50% for his entire career, how some of you consider two games bellow 40% is the end of the world is really beyond me.
