Translation: Guideance Counselor told me I had a choice of being either a Park Ranger or Customs Agent. I guess the Toll Booth Operators Association wasn't recruiting that semester.

haha... DoD and Jeff... Today in class, we did a Rational Actor Equation regarding the benefits of college. Left my head aching... but now I know I made the right decision and that you guys just suck. Unless I screwed up my math, of course... always a possibility with a worthless liberal arts major!
Ok, I have to ask : 1) Where did you grow up? 2) What made the University of Alaska even register as a choice?
Maybe, but I don't know. More interested in hurricane chasing, though I'll be out in Tornado Alley in the summer of '03 chasing storms (with any luck, at least).
Holy friggin crap, I wish I had read this thread earlier, and I hope you're still checking this thread out. I was at UMR from 1995 to 2001, so there's a very good chance I know you. You're name wouldn't happen to be Tim Baldwin, would it?
B.A., Morehouse College, Class of 2000 (gotta love those HBCU's!!!!) M.P.A., UT-Austin, Class of 2001

DoD, Grew up in Portland, OR. Loathe the place. Started coming to Alaska to vacation/work when I was 12. It wasn't much of a change for me. It gets a little cold here in Fairbanks but if you can deal with December and January, it's actually a pretty nice place to live. Plus I can see the tallest mountain on the continent from my room. How many students can say that?
