I brought this up in the other thread but there are several cases where women have used the men's room and men have used the lady's room for a variety of reasons. For that matter many places have unisex bathrooms. Under a certain size a bar or restaurant can have a unisex bathroom instead of separate gendered bathrooms by code. Anyway why would that matter as long as the person in question did their business behind a closed stall door. For that matter how would you know for sure that it was a man or a woman behind the closed stall door? I noticed this in the other thread. Whatever you feel about transexuals is your own business but it sounds like you are saying that the line you draw for transexuals is that they should be beaten and you would do so. What it sounds like to me is that it would probably be more dangerous for a transexual dressed as a woman to use the men's bathroom if you and those who share your view are there. As that would more a greater tipoff that they were transexual.
You realize there are gay men who are not flamboyant in their appearance; or even have any feminine mannerism, though they are still gay or bi sexual, while not all lesbians are trying to be butch or mannish. As far as a transgender woman using a bathroom for women, or a transgender man using a bathroom for men, I have no problems with it. It's just a restroom, most bathrooms have stalls, do afford you privacy. I know on this board, especiallly the old fashioned guys or the insecure ones who make a big issue about this. But really, if anyone walked into a bathroom and flashed their privates to anyone, child or adult, they are going to jail for indecent exposure regardless. Besides, I have transgender friends and most of them use a stall, like all women do and sort of sit on the toilet. I think it's a ridiculous assertion to assume that either transgender people/cross dressers-transvestites/(fetish-inclined) transvestite (3 different groups of people) are criminally inclined, more so than other people. Transgenderism is a bit more complicated than a man putting on a dress or even their own sexual preference, it is essentially based on the person's identity crisis or not being satisfied with one's gender state. To call a person someone who is a gay men who wants to be a woman is presumptious and sometimes disrespectful. Very short sighted. For one, most gay men identify as being men, first and foremost, and enjoy being men; being attracted to men; and never have the desire of becoming a woman. Transgendered indivduals have fluid sexualities, just like everyone else, some used to be gay men or women; others were and are still attracted to the opposite sex of their birth gender. There are transsexual women who are still attracted to women, just as they are transgendered men who are attracted to men. While, others are simply have preference for any or all genders. There's nothing set in stone. Cross dressers (General Transvestism) are more for entertainment and recreational purposes, they can either be straight; gay; or etc. It's just a mere act of dressing as an opposite gender, there's often nothing sexual about it. It's simply a drag queen or drag king. It's usually for an audience and sometimes it can be little more personal. More times than not, you will not see the person dressed like that in public or a good part of the day. They still identify as being men or women. (Fetish) Transvestism deals more with sexuality, a person becomes sexually aroused when they dress or temporarily assume the identity of the opposite sex. It's a very temporary, and momentarily give the person's sexual feelings or mood.
OP needs to listen to some Adam Ant and go dressed as a pirate in a kilt to the mall and get a little security in his sexuality. Or something. As for restroom etiquette, I see no reason to segregate. Too Victorian for me, and a waste of space. Unisex restrooms FTW.
I do, and I've socialized with many of them. The ones who don't act flamboyant don't bother me at all, which is why I feel I'm more bothered by outward flamboyance than one's sexual orientation.
This is a board about a team based in Texas and like it or not, Texas isn't known as the most tolerant and liberal state in the eyes of the rest of the country. Or the world for that matter. The D&D doesn't help easing that image at all, despite the numerous claims that CF is very very liberal.
The argument that people bring up about "Well, what if my daughter walks into a restroom and sees a transgender person in there, she could be traumatized or even molested or harm." I've already spoke about assuming criminality and the actual effect on youth in that situation; it's clearly a straw man argument at that point. But, clinging to the notion above, what if you reverse the situation, "Would it be ok for your young sons to see a feminine figure or transgender female using the boys bathroom." Couldn't a parent say that's odd to see someone who looks like a woman using the men's bathroom, and still throughout my child could be harm or molested by that person.
I'm usually in and out when I use the public restroom, and it takes me no longer than 1 second, 1 second people... I don't give a damn if a green troll with a pitchfork are using the stall, because I don't give a ****!!!!
