You are correct People seem to prefer someone with Conviction over someone who maybe right The Replubicans pretty have conviction no matter what they do . . whether right or wrong THEY ARE SURE IT IS CORRECT when it is proven wrong . . . oh well The Democrats seem to think this or that The fact they actually CONSIDER the otherside comes off as a weakness of position or as if they not 100% sure. Rocket River
lol this thread is funny.. anyway i agree. In my opinion Bush was/is the worst president in US history. Even his most loyal supporters would have trouble naming 5 Presidents who did worse. rofl
Every single one of those democrate candidate was better choice than Bush. A pile of horsesh!t >>>>>> Bush A pile of dogsh!t >>>>>>> Bush Don't look for excuses, just admit you were fooled.
Its sad that in this day and age considering the other side is considered a weakness. Politics is considered the art of compromise and that art is what has produced the greatness of our country. Our very republic is a compromise and if not for the built in compromises of checks and balances we could've easily gone the way of the first French republic, the Soviet Union or many other failed revolutions.
Being a history buff I don't know about 10 but can think of five. Warren Harding - The most corrupt administration ever. The Republican party paid hush money to a German sympathizer of WWI that he had an affair with and lost the Presidential China in a card game. Ulysses Grant - A drunkard who appointed cronies to office. Instituted the humiliating Reconstruction of the South. James Buchanan - Unable to hold the Union together and alienated both Abolishionists and Seccessionists. Zachary Taylor - Was only in office for 16 months and wouldn't even stand behind his key note program regarding maintaining the balance between slave and free states. Left it his not that great either successor Millard Fillmore to push his policy. Herbert Hoover - His ineffectual policies and leadership did nothing to help the country in the Great Depression and possibly made it worse. So things look pretty bad for the US but I don't think we will be able to judge fully how bad GW Bush was until decades from now.
If compromise and considering the other side is a characteristic of the neo-demo then I guess I'm a neo-demo. If you don't like compromise consider that if not for the compromise of the Bill of Rights following the Constitutional Convention you wouldn't have your beloved Second Ammendment.
I prefer to describe him as the worst President of my lifetime, which would go back to Ike, if you include Presidents I remember. Keep D&D Civil.
On the contrary, I meant that the neo-demos have the mindset that considering the other side is considered a weakness...
Bush tops all of that. Single-handledly managed to ruin America's reputation in the eyes of the World. No longer are we the country the rest of the World looks up to, for many reasons but Bush undoubtedly is one of them. After the fall of Soviets, US was sitting on top of the World as the sole World Power. China's on the rise and we're on the decline. At the current pace China will pass us up in the near future. All in all he caused the most damage to our country than any other President. Not to mention bombing a couple countries in the mist of it. Decades from now, we may see this Presidency as the beginning of the fall of US superiority. Or atleast from Greatness to "just a regular of the bunch".
All of those guys were incompetent, but none of them did as much harm to the country as Bush has done.
If he is not the worst ever, he is right up there. the afghanistan war i can understand, but the iraq war was done under false pretences. he attacked a non- terrorist sponsering nation without any WMD's because he had a personal grudge with saddam.
