Well, gee, maybe it will be a "perfect dump?!" Which way do you wipe? Standing, sitting or crouching?
I don't understand what is being celebrated. The original post says: "First Annual NC Texas Independence Day" Does this mean that North Carolinans have the opportunity to celebrate Texas Independence Day? If so why would someone from NC want to celebrate this holiday. In addition Texas Independence Day is March 2 according to Wikipedia. Was this event you hosted this past weekend? Confused.. P.S...Live life to the fullest, NO REGRETS!
We know quite a few transplanted Texans here, I being one. We are trying to start an annual friends and family gathering and just thought it would be fun to incorporate the Texas Independence theme as the "focal point." Elsewhere in the thread, I posted something from Wikipedia which explains that the "battle" for Texas independence is considered to have run from early March to April 21st so we went with the first Saturday after April 21 because it works better on the calendar (post Easter and Taxes but before Graduations) and at the weather desk.

You have to give them a head count ahead of time (I made a funny). That's how they set the price. Most venues set up the room to accomodate the amount of people on your head count. Sure, if one more person comes, you're OK -- but if 30 people say "well, I'm just one extra person." then the people who DID RSVP get screwed by the people who didn't. Seriously, is it so hard to be polite these days?? I can't believe there are people who feel so put upon.....by being invited to a party.
RSVP, giddy. Honestly, like several folks here, I'd never heard of "regrets only" before you mentioned it. Perhaps they don't use that term in Texas? When I get responses from my friends, it's usually something like, "Yes, you chump, we're coming! Now stop buggin' me about it. Just tell me if the gig is Wild Armadillo worthy or not." Well, OK, the last bit would have been from at least 25 years ago, but no matter. (don't ask me what a "Wild Armadillo" is!)
