Yao clearly outplayed Howard tonight. If it had been the other way around we would be slammed with "Yao got slapped" by Howard posts. What's up with that? I thought Howard was supposed to be the newest nominee for "better center than Yao."

When you are supposed to play better, you dont get to thump your chest when you do.

    Or something like that.

Yao clearly outplayed Howard , and even fouled him out.

But Yao is much more reserved and doesn't act as passionate as KG, so ppl are quicker to jump on the KG bandwagon.

That said, if Yao made a clutch dunk at the end there, you bet some threads would be up..

I thought he didn't play good or bad in the last few minutes, he made a good basket after some great passing and made 1 of 2 free throws, but missed a few shots too.

Look at my post idiot, I am anything but a YOF. I am ROF - period - going back a long time. Just noting something very peculiar in the way we post on the topic.

    It is just one game.

Howard has been having better games all year long.

more points, more rebounds, more blocks, more dunks, better fg percentage. just better in every category.

    Skill: Yao >> Howard
    Power: Yao = Howard
    Athletics: Yao << Howard
    Overall: Yao > Howard

"dunks" is not a meaningful statistical category. 2 points is 2 points.

Not the point of the thread. My point is we are overly negative about Yao. I am very certain if the stat line were reversed we would be pounded with Yao was ownded threads. I am just curious as to why, that's all. Nothing more.

Yao DID dominate howard. If he wasnt in foul trouble he would have dominated more. especially his 4 th foul!

D.Howard is like shaq in his early stages

at some point, someone is gonna tell em you can shoooooooot

and then he'll start taking turn around clankers off the backboard

u dont see amare trying to shoot very often

IMO i'd kill for a A.stoud or Marion to tower with Yao downlow

He'd prolly avg 50 a game recycling all of the rockets missed layups

Why all the hostility? I'm pretty sure the OP is 100% accurate. If Howard had had a better night tonight this forum would have been flooded with "Yao sucks" threads.

The fact that so many people are so eager to call the OP out is kind of suspicious. Disagree if you have to, but why all the hostility?

SO true. Even so, some are still not eager to give Yao some credit.

What's funny is KG dominated Yao (in the 4th quarter), Yao dominated Howard the whole game tonight and Howard obliterated KG in Orlando earlier this year.

    Well, that's true.

But Howard did try to dominate Yao this game and failed.
