OP probably just didn't think it through. 6-4 and up is already good height for a shooting guard. Most people peg SG height at around 6'6-6'8 but its really just a misconception. Michael Jordan's height without shoes is probably around 6'4.75, and Kobe is probably just an inch or so taller. Apart from OJ Mayo and B. Roy, there's Dwade, Kevin Martin, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Courtney Lee, Anthony Morrow just to name a few. Those guys don't get enough press though because the SFs are essentially already better than them. Melo, Iguadala, LBJ, Granger-all these guys are technically SFs but can play SG with ease, since they can do everything an SG can do but are longer and can also rebound the ball.
trevor ariza... well i know hes a three but plays the 2 for us and has improved i think he will only get better
I hear what your're saying about players listed heights, but if these kobe/kj are 6-4.75 w/o shoes then mayo/gordon are 6-2.75 w/o shoes. Whatever measurments you use they are at a disadvantage at the SG position because of their size, which is smaller than average. I included Gordon/Mayo in my young studs group but I do think their size limits them if they are going to be full time SGs. Dwade's no longer up-n-coming, he's here. Same with Kevin Martin IMO (if you say he can still can improve then I won't argue but I think he is who he is at this point, which is just a scorer. And he's 26) Anthony Morrow: I'll be honest I dont know too much about him. I know he can fill it up, but how does he score? off the dribble or catch-n-shoot? Tyreke Evans: too early to tell. Courtney Lee is a nice player but he isnt going to be the best player on his team. Ever. Granger/Melo/LBJ those guys are all big at 6-8. They CAN play SG but its better for them to use their size advantage and play closer to the basket.
