When you travel for business with a co-worker, do you normally share a hotel room?

I'm a level above platinum at Starwood. The not-advertised "Ambassador level"

many times I'll just buy the higher room, though

Only once about 25 years ago.

One time 15 years ago, and man and a woman from a British company came to Houston to give a presentation to us and they shared a room. Insane!

I think it depends on the size of the company.

I shared a room a couple times in travel but I am only 22... so travelling on business was more of an opportunity. I didn't care if we flew economy or if I had to share a room.

I don't see what the big deal is. Have you guys never been in a locker room?

Sidenote: I am safely assuming that you all are talking about rooms with 2 beds.

I work at the biggest software company in the world, and we share rooms. So it's not a money thing. I actually asked about it since it's so weird to me, but nobody I talked to knows why. Some guys that have been there for 15+ years say they've always shared rooms.

when we do tradeshows, we share rooms. The females are paired up and the males are paired up.

Normally no. One time we went to a sales conference in Vegas and the company got us a suite we shared. Ended up having more friends come and had like 9 guys and girls all sleeping in the same suite at the Venetian. It was okay cause we were all buds but normally that would be freaky.

Hell no! I travel a lot and you would have to pay me a boat load extra to share a room, and it has nothing to do with "have you never been in a locker room before"

Most rooms only have one tv, no privacy when making phone calls, some people like it colder than others in rooms, what if one snores, etc. Traveling for business is not college.

Football (soccer) players still sometimes do, even in the top teams.

I have to admit, I was thinking the same thing. Ruins any chance of being able to rub one out.

I think it depends on the company. Some want you to share a room for whatever reason.

Also think it depends on your position in the company.

I worked as a craftsman for a large contractor. When we worked out of town we always shared rooms. Two beds, two workers. Upper and middle management always had thier own room.

normally I share a room with my co-worker...save money for the company. we tend to base our commission on profit, lower expense=more $ for everyone.
