In today's defenses, what team in their right mind is going to allow a post player to score 50 points? It may happen someday, but it'll be when Yao is totally dominating, and/or the opposing team doesn't play any D.
When will Yao bust our with a 50 point game? JVG would say:"I won't see it in my life." When will the Roxs win the Champion? God would say:"I won't see it in my life."
It's impossible to play passive and get 50 pts in a game. Yao would need to show an aggresive side that we've never seen. He also would need to play more than 32 minutes or whatever he averages.
I would say next year against teams that don't double him, like the Magic. Last year, Yao bust 30pts. This year, Yao bust 41pts. Next year, Yao bust 52pts.
This is unlikely to happen as Yao is known as a more unselfish player or a team-first player. So he probably does not want his own win over team's loss. You know, at the time when Wilt made these stunning records, his team lost straight to Bill Russell's team as a contender for championship. And later, when he scored much less, he won one or two championships eventually. So teamwork is a key, man. As smart as Yao, he must have already known it.
