Rick's offense is a work in progress after 4 weeks. JVG's roster management has been a complete failure for four years. We are left with scrubs planted beside Yao and T-mac in the starting lineup after four years, what an accomplishment. I don't know. I find it hard to deplete a team like this even if one tries hard.

Don't know why you are so sure that Francis wanted to play here if JVG was still at the helm? Francis was an all star before JVG showed up, he had a shrinking role and less averages under JVG, as well as being shafted in the public in the Superbowl incident. Bonzi didn't forget how to play, he still capable of scoring and rebounding. If you don't want Bonzi at such a price, then you are infected with Gundiritis.

As for Yao's regression, I don't know what games you are watching. Yao was a mute donkey after bad calls under JVG, now he's starting to work the refs. Nice first step. He plays more minutes and increased his FT%, RPG, assists, steals, blocks. He made key shots against the toughest teams in final moments. Altough his scoring went down a little due to more talent on this team, he has been aggressive as of late.

Guess what, we were 6-1 as well, but T-mac got injuired, we ran into tough teams and played 5 games in a week. One good thing though, we were b****es of the Suns and the Spurs under JVG. With Adelman we are showing signs of "debitching" ourselves.

With JVG we gang up on the weak Eastern teams and bow to the Western elites, with JVG we tried to be regular season heroes by overworking our superstars, then we transform into league laughing stock in the playoffs breaking all kinds of shy records, we got stuck in mediocrity with two superstars with no future talent reserve, the best we could hope for was that Yao doesn't get crippled under the iron man workload, and by the time Yao and T-Mac become old we could still have one or two second round picks to buy the Knicks grandpas out of their retirement. Mark Jackson, Rod Strickland, Rick Brunson anyone? Care to enjoy watching an old Yao and fat T-mac playing with a bunch of scrubs masquerading as championship role players, while a little bold guy on the sideline frantically weaving that boring, predictable and injury inducing offense? No thanks, I love me some talent and healthy basketball without Gundiritis.

Great post! I just wish I'd thought to look that up. Kudos, and maybe some folks around here will have a stiff drink or a Valium, calm down, and give Rick A a chance.

I believe that folks like Panda need to go back and look up the definition of "General Manager". They keep getting his job confused with that of the "Head Coach" especially when it concerns the matter of scouting, drafting and signing players. It is laughable that people are still trashing JVG when what's happening has absolutely nothing to do with him. That tells me that these people have a huge problem dealing with reality and the reality of this season is that it is still too early to start b****ing out Rick Adelman (unless you happen to be the owner because scapegoating the head coach is his job).

It's something to think about how at the beginning of this season, some fans were so happy because the Rockets got rid of JVG and alot of people were dissing Jeff. But now that the Rockets are struggling, those same fans are saying, "we want jeff back" and "we miss Jeff." Its rediculous. I loved having JVG as the coach. Hes such a brillant defensive minded coach, but i was happy to hear that Rick Adelman was taking his place. The Rockets have so many offensive threats that they need someone to get the offense rolling in Houston. I think its going to take some time for Houston to play the type of basketball Adelman expects. they have to learn the offense which may take a while.

In his first year, with an improving Yao (his second year) he won a grand total of ONE more game than Rudy T...one.....and the Rockets had the best record of a team not making the playoffs under Rudy T as well.

In fact Rudy T forced the league to change the rules to counter his Iso strategy....

Rudy T (If healthy) would coach circles around JVG....

When have I EVER said it was all JVG's fault? Show me one single post? People leap to massive conclusions to support their position. I did not like JVG as the coach, I thought the minute we got Tmac he was the wrong coach for the team.

That doesn't mean I give the players a free pass, hardly, if you have followed my posts, I only care about the Rockets, and none of the players are untouchable as far as I am concerned, if it makes the team better make the trade.

I feel the same way about the coach, I had seen enough of JVG to realize that he was not the answer. He is a good coach, just not the right one for Houston, and he was fired, RIGHTFULLY SO.....

Even JVG admits that if you lose game 7 at home...you should go....he was right, for once at least.

As for V-Span, I get tired of people putting words in my mouth about the guy, all I ever wanted was for him to get a chance at the PG position, because I knew that Rafer was not the answer, and the Rockets need a penetrating PG to help ease the pressure on the big 2.

I still do believe that V-Span could have developed into that player with playing time, but I also admit that he seriously wussed out by not coming back when the Rockets got Adelman.

So, for the record......JVG is gone.....gone like a freight train, gone like yesterday, gone like a soldier in the Civil war..bang bang.....GONE !

Oh, please, Hillboy, I know you are better than this. It's quite clear that JVG has input on roster managment and player selection. Otherwise, it would be a tad difficult to explain the offers of assistant coach and player contracts to a long string of ex Knicks, and trading valuable picks away for a "glue" player with no potential is typically in accordance with JVG's "win now" attitude. JVG has the eyesight of a mole. I doubt he even thinks about next year. We were stuck with this guy. Can't win it all with scrubs starting and a razor thin bench, can't prepare for the future with a coach who just wants to win now.

Every team under JVG was made of a bunch of pansies(except Bobby Sura) that keep folding under pressure. JVG doesn't grow a team, he drives the players. His players are a bunch of little kids who can't think on their own. I don't know what made guys like JVG's teams so much, they were just a bunch of pansies like JVG, who screams like a little girl when they get molested by real teams in the playoffs. Thank God Morey came and fired JVG. Now if RA doesn't perform after a year of grace period, get another coach for all I care, but to give a fifth year to a loser is a waste of time. Please, no more JVG.

I don't know why people b**** about JVG signing guys like Charles Oakley to a couple of 10 day contracts - it's not like it cost the Rockets a shot at Carlos Boozer.
