I have seen him criticize both side.....remember him going off on Hillary? Olberman leans left, but he also will criticize the democrats when necessary. The hypocrisy from Fox is off the charts. DD
Having MSNBC (one of those stations owned by a big agglomerate, as you elegantly said) put under it's caption of "Breaking News" when Palin was introduced as VP nominee, "How many houses does this add to the republican ticket?" ...........tells me all I need to know about where NBC leans. I agree Fox leans right more times than not, but if you are going to say that, you need to be fair and mention the others as well as print media leans more left.
On the topic of Palin, I hope someone, someday, before the election, gets to ask her some real questions on pork barrel spending. Alaska gets approximately 1/3 of its state government income via federal spending. Here's a graph from 2007 rating the pork per capita, by state. Alaska is the big dot: (edit: note small sizes of Illinois and Arizona, for Senators Obama and McCain) Here's a link to the java routine that will let you sift through the (2005) data: Sunlight Foundation on earmarks
*snicker* josh has a good question -- Isn't Palin supposed to move to Cheney's undisclosed location after she gets elected, not before? --Josh Marshall
The difference is that Olbermann doesn't make stuff up that isn't true, and issues corrections when he's wrong. Olbermann is also a better writer than Hannity. The problem with Olbermann is that he doesn't pick and choose his battles and at times will try and build up an issue that is a mole hill. It makes his battles against the mountains less effective.
No way. Her ambition shined through on Wednesday. Besides, If she's VP, there's no way she would resign because then the Speaker of the House becomes President. She would become President Palin.
Palin is being kept under wraps and the McCain camp is busy trying to get the investigation of Troopergate squashed. Damn, this reminds me of the Nixon years! What really slays me about Palin's selection by McCain is that if he gets elected he may only serve one term. Regardless if it is one term or two, Palin would automatically be at the top of the GOP ticket in the next election cycle. By making this pick, John McCain has tossed the last shovel of dirt onto the grave that holds the John McCain we thought we knew and that some of us liked. At least to me, this pick by McCain is the most bizarre thing he has done during his political career and shows him willing to do ANYTHING to get elected President. Anything. God help us if he is elected.
Happy now? And why would unbiased REPORTERS give Biden a cardboard cutout of McCain? http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=5747205&page=1 Palin to Sit Down With ABC News' Charlie Gibson Veep Pick Is Elusive Target for the Democrats Sept. 7, 2008 Gov. Sarah Palin will sit down with ABC News' Charlie Gibson for her first interview since winning the Republican vice presidential nomination, the network's news division confirmed today. Palin accepted the nomination to be Sen. John McCain's running mate 10 days ago, but has yet to submit to questions from reporters covering the election. The Alaskan governor was taunted by the spokesman of her Democratic counterpart, Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, for not submitting to a grilling by the press. Reporters covering Biden gave the candidate a cardboard cutout of McCain, and Biden spokesman David Wade promptly used the gag to take a poke at Palin. "You realize you could've made history if you'd found a cardboard cut-out of Governor Palin," Wade said. "That's the closest she would've been to taking tough questions from the national media since she was selected." "Then again, I guess the Republicans are continuing their recent history of keeping their vice-presidential picks in secure, undisclosed locations," he added, in reference to Vice President Dick Cheney's use of an "undisclosed location" after the Sept. 11 attacks. "Yet another way that McCain-Palin is more of the same." The McCain campaign, however, has complained that the press coverage of Palin has been sexist and intrusive in asking whether she is capable of being a mother to five children and vice president at the same time, and delving into the pregnancy of her 17-year-old umarried daughter. Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, told Fox News today that Palin wouldn't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference." Davis shrugged off the criticism and said Palin would do interviews, "When we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it." "She's not scared to answer questions. But you know what? We run our campaign, not the news media. And we'll do things on our timetable," Davis said. Palin was campaigning in New Mexico today.
This whole "concern" was doofus level in the first place... "OMG She's not giving interviews!!?! But then she's telling the world her story at the RNC!!?? And did long video documentary interviews!?!! She must be teh dum rednecks!!1!" She has nothing to hide. The left is trembling... and I don't mean the effects of Bay area earthquakes either.
The media will talk about Palin whether she wants to or not. It goes back to that whole addressing the Swift Boat allegations thing. It's better to put out your mug with a semblance of control of the situation.
Because the real McCain wasn't there and they wanted to see his reaction? Since when does a cardboard cutout equal bias?
Do you read? Rupert Murdock, owner of Fox News, is a well-known supporter of .... OBAMA! Also, who characterizes Murdock as "very conservative?" The case for calling him "very liberal" would be much easier.
