if it takes certain circumstances to get your supposedly best player to play like that then that's a huge problem. If harden isn't motivated just because he wants to be better player and wants to put in the work to win a title on his own than that says a lot about him as a player. None of those things you mentioned are required to become a better player. Tbh those just sound like more excuses to go along with the list of many people use for him.
Morey will only hire a puppet coach. He and the coach will clash if he doesn't follow his stupid orders.
End of season. No coach worth their salt would take over at this stage. They need to bring in their own people and players to match their system, plus the offseason to recruit.
My bet is we'll seriously consider him, Finch and a third, possibly fourth guy. No shot at JVG, Thibs or any high roller. We'll interview Elie, Scott Brooks and a couple of former assistants and fired head coaches. I have a gut feeling he will stay as assistant along with Finch.
I don't think he gets fired this season. Only way that happens if there is a 10 game losing streak or something. but that's not going to happen. He's gone after this season no doubt about it.
