Howard is better than Asik, but at times, he doesn't look that much better. Like I've been saying in other threads, I'm the most upset with Howard tonight. His overall effort on both sides of the ball was lackluster. He definitely doesn't play consistent enough or dominate enough to warrant $20 plus million.
Howard just looks like he is low energy and doesn't care that much. I mean there's a lot of rebounds he should have gotten. The hustle is missing.
the key under van gundy is dwight would basically always look like he was about to dart backdoor, he'd get the defender on the backfoot, and then post him up 3 feet from the hoop.
His best game out of 20 has been a lost for us vs the mavs.... I'm just being honest
You mean it was a loss? Hardens best game was tonight and we lost. What's your point?
At this point Dwight deserves the overrated tags he's getting. He's got to give the team more on a night when they were missing two key guys.
Offense was not an issue tonight. It was defense. Everybody played horrible D. Especially harden. If we don't make Hayward look like Jordan, we win this easy
You mean it was a loss? Hardens best game was tonight and we lost. What's your point?
Harden is proven for us u can't be a rockets fan saying this dude
He just needs to stop insisting on posting up so much and commits to the Pick and Roll. I think McHale is just letting Dwight posting up and making him realize how inefficient it is.
this. you have to feed him on the move. unfortunately for us though, drawing up ISO's on the etch-a-sketch is so much easier for the coaching staff.
He really needed to dominate when 2 key players are out. I can't believe we lost to Utah. Just unbelievable.
Howard is playing nice and deferring to his teammates rather than demanding that they conform to his preferred style of play. He definitely could use some more fire in his belly, but he is a good guy. Leave Dwight alone! I will wait to see how he performs in the playoffs before criticizing him.
There seems to be a feeling, amongst fans and players, in today's NBA, ESPECIALLY when the big isn't a Hakeem, Duncan, or LMA level offensive player, that it just don't make as much sense to go down low to a guy like Dwight. Which doesn't make sense... I understand he is not a 55% shooter in post-ups... and the pure math might not even say he's an above average player there... but YES, you probably should try and go to him a little more offensively. Just a little. Defensively, he seems to be active and involved... but frankly, our guards can't stay in front of anybody. Even PBev appears to have been exposed a bit here. He's a solid defender, but because he's a pest principally more than an ability to stop anyone, even on one play. This team has been abused by PGs game after game. From the crappy (Steve Blake), to the good (CP3 repeatedly, Tony Parker)... the only alternative to this rule I can think of is Conley with Memphis... who can be an up and down scorer anyway. Finally, it should be noted that not only was Lin and Parsons out, but apparently TJones forgot to show up as well. What happened there? Young player inconsistencies I guess. All that said... YES, Dwight needs to show up a little bit more and put his imprint on the game, no doubt.
