Let's not kid ourselves. The Rockets are not even comparable to the Thunder. The Thunder are making steady improvement each year towards a ring. They might not win, but they are in the right direction. For the last few years, the Rockets have bounced around from bottom half of the playoffs to the bottom half of the lottery. The Rockets have become slowly worse, after Artest left. They definitely won't win and they are headed towards the Finals, Conference Finals, Conference Semi-Finals, or the 1st round. It's just loss after meaningless loss. They won't lose enough to get a great asset for trade or to get a star.
So you're saying that if Daryl Morey had Westbrook and Durant instead of Yao and T-Mac, then went out and got Scola, Landry/Martin, Brooks, Lowry, etc. that we wouldn't be "making steady improvement each year towards a ring?" If that's the case, what would we be doing then?
Let's be honest This team is just becoming boring and boring. What DM had done according to some people" made smart moves", to me, we just become another Kings. We not only bring ex king coach, we're getting more and more kings players. There is no single player in our roster who worth to watch. And we put ourself in a ugly postion: we can't win anything and we refuse to rebuild. As much as disappointed in YAO&TMAC era, at least we can picture something, at least those experts will put " what if" in our title. now......
You don't see the difference between holding two stars that are declining faster than the rest of the team can be improved and building around two great young players who improve as the team improves? We've treaded water for years because Morey held Yao and Tmac past the point it was clear that it wasn't going to work.
Not only has our GM not done anything to address our glaring weakness in the middle, the coach overplays the vets and allows his favorite player Bra Miller (no D) jack up 3 after 3! Instead of playing Pat Pat or T will to gauge their value or judge their game. Have the possibility to trade for J Smoove and or G Wallace , Dalembert & Landry, McGee. Imagine a line up of Lowry Martin J Smoove or Wallace Scola Dalembert or McGee McGee might have had an issue in Washington but he rebounds, blocks shots and runs the floor, better than anyone we have on the roster. This line up would allow Scola to concentrate on what he does best, score and rebound. But something major must be done soon or the taking is the plan.
