People in CF just see what they want to see. Hardens TOs gonna cost the Rox a ring, Parsons would have been better than Ariza on the Rox, now Brewer is the least skilled and most useless player in the league. As another poster said, Brewer's +/- is the 28th best in the league, thats pretty good for the 10th guy on the team regardless of how he does it. More importantly 3 coaches have now been giving Brewer significant PT despite all the dumb TOs and the bricked 3s. Are these guys all dumb or what? While Brewer isnt exactly amazing for 15 mins a night he's not bad, esp. when Gordon comes back healthy he's a better bench dude than someone like Rice Jr who doesnt play D and just looks to shoot every play, lots of players like to shoot that ball its tough to find guys who just bring energy every night and dont mind doing the dirty work. Like what the other poster said Brew is just a piece of the puzzle it takes all kinds to form a cohesive team. If the bench was just full of shooters who all want the ball the bench would be horrible.
Brewer played well last night. However, last night was an anomaly not in terms of his skills but in terms of what he gets asked to do most nights. He had so much freedom last night and got to play his game because he was taking the Gordon spot. In the role of slasher and break runner he has always been a good player except for last year when he had weird finishing issues at the rim. Unfortunately on most nights all he is asked to do is be a three point shooter and that's his worst skill
Stating the obvious, Brewer's jumper is broken and if I see him or Beverley not take a wide open 3 to drive into lane traffic I will have to buy a new TV. Shoot the 3, that's the way our offense work. It amazes, that an NBA player can't shoot 3s when you can do that for at least 4 to 5 hrs a day. You're paid $6 mln to do that, giving a sleeping bag and ball boy to shag rebounds. Come on Gator Brew get that 3 ball going and shoot with confidence.
I see what you mean, its insane how poor he shoots seeing how hes had years to add a consistent jumper to his game.
Just putting it out there From feigen's twitter. D'Antoni last night on Brewer's season-high 15 pts. "Hes been playing well for a while." Seems clear. Leads the team in net rating, plus 12.
In Brewer's defense, I remember when he was drafted and Jay Bilas' knock on him was his jumper was broken because of a childhood broken arm that didn't quite set right meaning his form was always going to be unconventional and awkward. In other words, his form and thus his shot would never be easily fixable.
