He does have a knack for being part of the occasional big bench run. But then, it's not like that happens regularly. The most confusing part is that he isn't this bad a player. And he's just 30, not ancient. Granted, he was never a good 3 point shooter at all. But even 28/29% is loads better than where he's at this year. Logically, the only thing that makes sense is that when you are so bad at shooting threes, in this MDA offense, even though there is also a lot of cutting and at the basket scoring, you are just not going to fit. Brewer is definitely allowed to play through is mistakes more. There has to be a contract component to this. DM needs to move Brewer's contract for cap space. That said, if KJ was a meaningfully better option than Brewer as you imply, I have no doubt he'd be out there more. But KJ, like Brewer, just isn't a good three point shooter. he does do other things well, but in this system, you have to be able to provide spacing with 3 point shooting first and foremost, which opens up the lanes for driving, cutting, slashing.
No offense but I'll take what the coaches are seeing over what you are seeing. Literally three straight coaches have had his butt glued to the bench, while brew keeps getting minutes. And his defense is garbage that's been proven over and over again. He's a poor man and even worse team defender. Kj looked good cutting to the hoop playing next to harden. Harden makes a lot of guys look better than they are.
I think kj is a much better option than Brewer but I think the team wants to move Brewer this year and it would be hard to do that if he was glued to the bench.
kj maybe brewer without experience. he did look better in preseason than in his garbage mins, in wich he looks lost, and easy to push around. as if everything is too overwhelming for him. and with brewer, you never know weather he would fall, dunk, forget the ball, fingerroll, charge... and, i think he never lost the ball when going on a fast break after his own rebound. that need skil.
if brewer is gone - there is just someone else u all will complain about. Brewer aint as bad as you all make him out to be, u all just have tunnel vision.
You know there was a time i really liked corey and he was contributing well to the rockets. Year before last when we made our decent play off run. He actually did really good back at that time. Not sure why he dropped off so bad last year.
Can Rudy Gay play hustling D? We have enough O. Brew is in the upper tier of guards who bother opponents. On offense, he doesn't take that many shots, unless he's got it going. He knows his role. He is a piece to the puzzle.
there was TJones/Jlin/Lutherhead/Tmac/ etc etc etc - all these player go down. Rule in mgmt, you get rid of one rotten apple another always replaces it. Sometimes even good players go bad.
Parsons hasn't had a healthy season since he left and his poor health has been a problem for both of the teams that signed him. Him missing playoff games hurt the Mavericks and would have hurt the Rockets. We went to the WCF after replacing Parsons with Ariza. Are you really retroactively saying Morey should have kept Parsons? Knowing that season wouldn't have happened because we wouldn't have had our starting 3 in the playoffs, instead playing Brewer 35 minutes a night? Knowing that he'd be a max player meaning this year we would again have either had to re-sign him to max dollars and forgo Gordon or let him walk anyway? Not to mention that Parsons WANTED TO LEAVE. He wanted to go play with his drinking buddy. I'm baffled that anyone thinks we should have kept Parsons with the benefit of hindsight. The Mavericks got NOTHING out of Parsons and the Rockets went to the WCF with Ariza and currently one of the best teams in the NBA with Ariza. Both of the teams that Parsons has played with since he left have been worse because of his inability to be healthy.
