You're right. Lowry looks like crap playing with the "read & react" starters.

I just heard by our own Bill Worrell in this broadcast around the 5 minute mark of the third quarter say that Houston Rockets basketball is inside out.

    Inside Out.

Establishing Scola in the first quarter of every single game is the way to go. Inside out.

The improved backcourt defense gives us some cheapies too...

DD, this is like my yao v duncan thread. This is what i've been saying for 2 yrs or more. Get yao off the baseline, keep it open, and good looks will be created. Of course those who are still stuck on post players are probably still rooting for the fulltime fullback in football.

When the Rockets push the tempo and run the lanes is when they are at their best on offense. Thats why bigs like Scola who can run the lanes and be used as trailers by the guards whom are pushing the ball are so valueable.

That is an offense that is not reliable against good teams that pay attention to transition defense.

Not many transition defenses can handke Brooks or lowry in the open court.

That is exactly right. For us to have a chance in the playoffs, we have to run efficient half-court offense. That doesn't mean we don't break when it is there. But it's just the facts that in the playoffs the fast break opportunities are not there as often. You have to be able to set up and be efficient.

This also means you have to have bigs in the paint that can defend. Because you are in the playoffs and everybody else is going to the rim against you.

Yao either needs to get well and play or we need to land a 7 footer with skills that can play good D and is bball smart and can play in our offense effectively.

Besides Scola, we have no reliable interior Scorer anymore. You make the best with what you got. You gotta milk youy're strength. UInless we somehow get anorther interior scorer, you gotta milk Luis and run as well.S

That's been the motto since Rudy was coach.

Will it just be the Rocket's identity for ever? Yes, as long as we have a legitimate 5 who knows when to pass out of the paint, we flow with the way of the "3 ptr".
