Even if we did get a high pick, Im sure management would just trade it for another old declining player like always.

And I don't see how we can talk about championship next year with Yao being a big question mark, according to Illgauskas the injury take 2 yrs to fully heal, where he was limited to 15-20mpg when he came back.

With a talent like John Wall being the prize tanking wouldnt be out of the question however were way past that, even if we tank the rest of the way theres no way were getting him....were gonna be reloaded next year so we might as well try and make the playoffs and get some more experience, theres no point on giving up on the season

that being said i think that by the time this new team starts gelling it'll be 2 games too late

    First...What are you smoking?

Obviously right now Battier is declining but when we traded for him he wasn't..His stats that year were pretty close. There was zero indication that year that he was declining ..as for ron artest he was coming off a 20 ppg season shooting 45 percent. How the heck is anyone going to predict he would shoot that badly in Houston?

I say we play to win. But I say change the way we are trying to win. I agree with giving more unproven players more playing time. When their out there, I expect them to try to win as much as the starters. At this point, the only way this team goes to the playoffs is if someone emerges. Taping our newly acquired resources is the best way to find out fast if we have a sleeper or two around. At least see them operate enough in game time to see what real help they can be, or not. Not only is this sound for next years team, but its sound for this year as well. Jelling at the right moment has propelled many-a-team deeper in the playoffs than predicted. If we dont make the playoffs, then we could so do knowing we made the most of the parts we had. If we miss the playoffs by 1-2 games. Ill admit expanding our new guys minutes may have cost us. But if we miss by 5+ games, then its a moot point.

Never. It's not in this team's nature to ever give up.

Give me a better pick. I hope our current coach also cares a high pick besides winning some meaningful games. Playing young players with more min is a way to go.

if you don't try, it's a big middle-finger to the season ticket holders.

and yeah, you will DEFINITELY see a losses somewhere in terms of revenue.

I would rather see the team get a higher draft pick and lace em up and go at em next season.

If they somehow squeak into the playoffs, great....but we need to get our young guys some seasoning.

Please if your going to try to make an argument understand your own side:

Knicks were a very experienced, older team that had multiple go-to scorers like Allan Houston (before surgery), Larry Johnson, and Latrell Sprewell (during one of his few instances of sanity) and Ewing who could still hit a jumper.

It was a 50-game season, so in a full 82 game slate, one could argue that it would be hard to say if they would have been seeded higher to begin with as it took them most of the beginning of the year to integrate Sprewell after trading Sparks.

They were played a No. 1 Miami Heat team that was overrated in that it could always do well in the regular season, but built well enough to win in the playoffs. This was a also a rival they matched up well against. They also beat them in a 5 game series which is much easier than a 7 game series.

They were also a Van-Gundy coached Defensive team that make games grueling half-court contests requiring execution in the your sets.

Please tell me how this years Rockets in any way possible resembles that team, or how the Lakers (with one of the best playoff closers of all time in Kobe) would let us beat them in a 7 game series.

They weren't exactly "old" but I get your point, those trades apparently didn't work out in our favor.

1.i think RA is already tanking. Started in Magic game. If he wanted to win he would have had more Shane,Scola,Hayes, instead at the end of 1st quarter he put out Armstrong,Jeffries,Temple. I knew the tank was on.

2.the lottery seeds 11th-14th are SO close , i see us going for the 11th seed, and dont rule out moving up to 8th seed. Those three teams below us, would have to win another 6 games to match our 28 wins, so if we lose 15 straight we could move up to 8th seed instead of 11th seed.
