We will have to disagree. This looks ugly to me:

The irony is Bird and Terrence have a similar wind up where they sort of put the ball on top to behind their head.

No BasketCaseaHollic comment??? Does someone need to go check his house and make sure he didn't keel over?

TJones could teach the rest of the rockets how to finish at the rim.

Bird has his arm to the right of his head. TJones' arm is directly above his head. The key to a good shot is keeping your arm straight and square to the basket throughout the release. Bird does this even though the shot starts out looking weird.

TJones is more like Reggie Miller. His arm started at an awkward angle but he managed to make it work.

It's not his form so much as the fact that his release is slow as molasses.

I would be less worried about his shot and ask the question of why we don't do more pick and roll or post ups with him. The same can be said with Josh Smith. Some of the offensive burden needs to be shifted away from DMo so we can save whatever he has left for the playoffs (he has had about as much of a break this year as Harden).

The biggest takeaway was not his shot but the fact Jones looked more confident on the boards yesterday. He was tentative in Portland and Utah but came out trying to assert himself yesterday. His fire in being the first person to confront Barnes after that cheap shot is also great (and funny that Barnes stepped away from that and would only jaw with Beverly, he wanted no piece of Jones).

When Howard comes back, do you slide DMo back to the 4 or keep Jones in the starting lineup? It may not matter as hopefully the Rockets just mix and match at the 4/5 and keep rotating bodies in there to where down teams and give them different defensive looks.

I find TJones' 3 ball just the most awkward thing this side of the Rio Grande Valley. But? When it goes in and makes an LA crowd go "ooOOOOHHHhhh" I'm all for it. It sure looks like he has to remember how to shoot a set shot first, as long as it takes him to windup...but....

It don't have to be pretty. It don't have to swish. It just has to go IN.

Over at our house we jump and cheer for TJ. Here's that "atta boy"! you were looking for.

Yes he looks like a wind up toy dinosaur that is about to run out of batteries, yes he looks like a goose that is drunk dribbling down the court, yes he probably needs WD40 on his knees and elbows, and yes he totally suckers bigger and smaller players in when he does his little dance.

    You go young fella !

Post fails to take into account Euro Superstar Joey Dorsey. Jones could learn a lot from this wise offensive mentor.
