I wish I had a link, I tried to find one, albeit, not very hard. but if you dont get the correlation of Houston, NY and hellhole.........just forget it. I'll just presume/hope you are too young.

My personal take on New York being a slime hole has little to do with that slimehole being liberal laden. I am pretty sure that it has to do with it being a hole full of slime. Maybe I just saw the bad parts........lol.

well, i don't recall anyone from new york calling houston a slimehole or vice versa in 1994, or even during the Met-Astros series.

But regardless, I don't think NY is a slimehole. Definitely could use more nature though. But why take your anger out at 7 million people who probably don't spend a lot of time thinking about Houston very much?

Me thinks you're a bit too sensitive if you hold a grudge for 20 years or whatever it is.

methinks it has nothing to do with a grudge. NY is just fine for a few days. other than that.......slimehole. My beautiful and world renowned opinion of course. ;)

there was a huge headline in one of the ny papers during the 94 season calling houston a hellhole. that's what he's referring to.

not that i agree with his assertion...

Wow, what relic from the past did you step out of? Many countries have had women as their leaders, including India, Israel, Great Britain, Pakistan, Finland, and France. Many have leaders today, with Germany, Chilie, Argentina, Iceland, Jamaica, New Zealand, and Ireland among them. I guess you can be happy with the fact that your comment would be good for a laugh in pubs around the world. Not sure if it would get you a beer on the house, however. Certainly not from a bartender who happens to be a woman.

Is it sexist to hold a door open for a woman or give up your seat on a bus/tram/subway/etc. to a woman?

It reminds me of the joke where a man is holding the door open for a lady and she says, "you don't have to hold the door open for me because I am a lady", and he replies, "I'm not holding the door open for you because you're a lady, I'm holding the door open becuase I'm a gentleman".

An old joke! I still do it, and I'm a self-described feminist. Must be showing my age.

To each their own... I would rather a person tell me what is really on their mind instead of pussyfooting around it or trying to be gentle, just because I'm a woman.

Some people are just nice though. I'm a nice person, I act the same toward everyone, regardless of gender.
