I wont argue with that due to the fact I was wanting him to be our 6th man award (omg he would so win that easily) but after the first couple games I really doubt it. I believe when the starters are on the court with him and see him do what he does it fires them up fast and early. Artest is a loud player as well. By that I mean he gets vocal with his team mates, always gathering them around for huddles and getting on them to move it and honestly our starters need that. We have Barry and Battier now for the second unit. On top of that but not lastly I am sure but as much as Artest says he would come off the bench I believe its not what he wants and he is showing what he can bring to the starters unit, plain and simple.
I agree. Before the season started, I thought Artest would be better for the second unit. Now, I think we need someone like Artest to jumpstart this team. His energy is just what this team needs at the beginning of games. I'm really interested to see how Battier is going to fit in to the mix. Will he be playing mostly as a small forward with Brooks and Barry in the backcourt? How will he complement Artest and McGrady in the rotation? How will it affect guys like Landry and Hayes, who have been getting some minutes at SF depending on matchups? Adelman's got some serious juggling to do.
I honestly don't think there will too much trouble fixing a rotation. Simply due to the fact that after the starters get some time in he will start moving people around but try to keep maybe at least 2 of the big 3 up at a time until the 4th where they be back on board again. He might take out Yao first letting Landry come in. Or maybe Tmac letting Battier come in on the 3 and Artest moving to the 2. Easily do a Battier/Artest swap but the idea of having both our big 2 defenders is just murder (can you say you feel sorry for Kobe trying to do a switch up?). Barry and Brooks will probally come in pairs, they tend to play so well together and even then Landry plays so well with Brooks as well. All I can say is the biggest problem is having Yao play the most minutes in the league of centers and not having a guy to help him get rest is sucky right now.
