At his peak, which of these players will Carl Landry most resemble?

Carmelo? Are you kidding me? Carl Landry is good, but he's not that good.
Wow, that must be about as far-fetched as anything I've ever heard in my life.
First of all, Carl Landry is a 6-8, 6-9 power forward, nothing more, nothing less. No matter how good his shooting becomes, his game is suited for a power forward. Thats why Carlos and Amare makes sense because they have a mid-range jumper that is reliable.

wow thats really funny dude. Thats extremely laughable

LOL...some of these comparisons are ridiculous.

I can't decide which one takes the cake: Carmelo or Charles Barkley.

Landry is athletic...for a PF. To compare him to the one of the most dynamic swingmen in the league is a crime. Charles Barkley is a top 5 PF of all time...Landry had better get on it if he ever wants to be that good. Chuck, even at 6'6 250, was a one man fast break.

But don't you think 6-8 is a little short for a PF?
Though melo is an SF,but the way of his playing is more like a PF. He also play as a PF at National team.
Landry is a quick one.He can also scores in the paint with shooting just like melo did.

    1. Forget NBA, Landry doesn't even have a NCAA-quality crossover.
    2. Landry doesn't do dribble drives, period.
    3. Fadeaway 22ft jump shots? Why bother when he is guaranteed to score from 5ft in?

Their games have no connection whatsoever, the Carmelo comparison is absurd.

I said Kenny Thomas but enchanced, i would put him higher if he was able to create his own shot (which he is not now) and i don´t see him able to be better at this as he has (for now) very few offensive (post or non post) moves for me (Open JS and Dunk).

Exactly why he wasn't drafted very high, which was lucky for us :)

Again, if we're to go by your manner of thinking, shouldn't quick and athletic PFs like Amare play the SF position? Do you see him dribble driving towards the basket or hell, shoot threes?
If Landry even had half the skill set of Carmelo, I can guarantee you he wouldn't be playing for us right now because he would've been drafted much higher.

Ironically, the same thing could be said about Chuck Hayes. If he was just 2-3 inches taller, he would've been a first rounder because of his defense

Landry has many more moves than he's been able to show so far.He can face up and hit the J.Also a variety of moves on the interior. Many people bring up Boozer but being drafted in the second round is one of the few things these two have in common.Carl is a better athlete than Boozer.I think much of this comes from the younger fans.

Carl Landry is much closer to Shawn Kemp as he has the strength as well as the mad hops.I'm not talking about a "poor man's" version either. The Chuckster comparisons are flattering but in his prime Charles would snatch it and take it coast to coast for the flush. But Carl has serious skills.Like I said earlier he has a variety of moves that haven't even been dusted off yet.The sky is literally the limit.Ladies and Gents we have a guy that should develop into a legit ALL STAR on our hands.Carl has the 42" vertical,is strong as an ox,and plays with a desire to be the best he can be which is reminicient of MJ(Before everyone gets excited, I'm NOT comparing him to MJ in any other way)Right now if the draft was held over I submit he would be a top 5 -6 pick.Eventually I see him putting up 23 and 12.
Remember,he's just now getting his confidence back along with the physical talent from the injury.

One other guy that comes to mind is Kevin Willis in his prime.Yes,KW is a seven footer, but still....

There's no way he has 42 inch vertical. Probably close to 40 but probably not more. He's a very good athlete and has explosive hops, but I can't imagine him having that good of a vertical. Not even Amare has that good of a jump.
I absolutely love Landry, and I agree he should've been a first rounder, but he is in way shape or form a lottery-type talent.

Lets just hope he doesn't become too good so much that other teams will probably want to sign him (although I think there's no way Morey would not sign him back after his contract ends). But lets not get too overhyped on the guy also.

Landry is very much like Amare Stoudemire. He is extremely athletic and quick on his feet so that he's great in pick n' roll situations. And he's got a reliable mid-range jumper like Amare does. Landry's defencies are like Amare too: a little undersized to back people down and bang in the post; and defense needs improvement.

Don't underestimate the knee injury...Look what he did at less than 100 % in the Big 10 and in March Madness. And if I remember correctly his vertical has increased by 4 - 5 inches as he has recovered.
