I think it was planned shortly before Christmas but might get moved back. The Draft is definitely delayed to hammer out the new CBA.
Saw somewhere they're looking at January 1st. Same article also said they planned for beginning of December, then end of December, now start of January.. likely it gets delayed even further.

Think of yourself as an NBA investor or owner. You don't know when your arena is going open back up and how many of the disposable income people have gotten back on their feet and able to attend games regularly. Every mention of a coaching or player change is all pillow or speculation talk at best.
the NBA draft is in mid October. im thinking next season could start before Christmas. pretty sure the office wants that Christmas game ratings.
lockdowns, imminent lockdowns, post-election riots, etc are these 72 games going to take place in a bubble again? i'm not expecting a '20-'21 season anytime soon
No way they will have a bubble, that was only possible because of the limited amount of teams I think. They'll just have to do what the MLB and NFL are doing and my guess is that if a player gets it then games will have to be rescheduled.
if it's less than 2 months till the start of the season and the draft is at 18 November then how long is FA supposed to last? A week?!? Are FAs going to sign while already at training camps? I know this year FA is going to suck but still..
Quit the Olympics, it's 1 year too soon. Tokyo authorities are tentative with testing because of the Olympics. The country has at least 100k more infections if tested more. The NBA shouldn't be shortened because of it.
