Pretty much and she's gonna make sure her husband helps w/ that.

And if he's a smart man...Melo better do it. Or there will NEVER be peace in his home.

Anyways, hard to see Melo going to Houston. Hard to see him leaving Denver any time soon. I think Houston has a chance, but no time soon. The only way he'll be moved is if he continues to pout. If he's moved they'd rather sign and trade him imo.

How Denver is playing by the trade deadline will be the most important issue, both for Melo and the Nuggets. Im guessing that if they are out of the top 6 seeds by then, it will be mutual that a move be made.

The Rocket's don't want him, the higher end analytics show that he is not worth the money.

    Melo is no Rocket's fellow.

I tend to agree with this line of thinking, but have any actual numbers or some excerpt relating to this been previously posted here?

Just look at history of conversations regarding players etc, how advanced stats are considered and their belief that working hard is a skill, and make your own conclusion.

but if we're only going by quotes then we can also conclude that DM's absolutely committed to getting a superstar player onto the roster someway somehow, and what other superstar player besides carmelo is there for the taking in the foreseeable future

Anytime they mention which city fits his celebrity wife, or Anthony's desire to be seen in a big market the more I realize his destination won't even be about basketball. Its more about building his "brand" just like Lebron. Plus who gives a ***** where his "celebrity wife" prefers, whatever happened to what team you fit best with.

Recognizing that effort is important is easy, quantifying effort is much more difficult.

The advanced stats do not say Melo is a Superstar, so my estimation is that they would pass on Melo and wait for CP3, or the next guy.

There is no need to act, just to act, one must act smartly......and not chase every shiny new object in the stream...

Melo is a quality scorer, but there is nothing else he does on the NBA floor that warrants a Max contract.

Poor GM's give Max contracts to players that do not deserve one, Rudy Gay, Joe Johnson, Rashard Lewis etc... and Morey is not a poor GM.

Therefore, it leads me to believe that the team will look elsewhere.

This is so true, but you have to make the assumption that the Rockets track things that are not kept as statistics. We have heard many times Morey talk about the true assist, where a player makes the right pass but his teamate misses it.

That leads you to conclude they are tracking much more than you can find ins stats alone.

And since we do not have that data, you have to go by what you see on the floor etc, and I doubt anyone would call Melo a high effort guy.

Don't know why, but this guy kinda reminds me of Tracy McGrady. I have a feeling that if we got him, we'd regret that.

Did you place Melo on the same tier as Shard, Rudy, JJ on purpose, or was that an honest mistake? He may not be the term superstar personified like a Wade, Kobe, or Lebron, but he is, without a doubt, a top scorer in this league. To imply otherwise is ridiculous.

No doubt he fits here perfectly. He is on a lvevel above Chris Bosh for sure. Not on a level of Lebron, Kobe, Wade, and Chris Paul. He is certainly that level right there almost with them though. Any good year he has could be better than some of these guys. Wouldnt be against it if he joins us still.

I can agree that he's on a level above Bosh, but I still feel Bosh was, and still is, the perfect fit for this team as composed. He'd perfectly complement Yao.

I don't think we really need a top tier superstar. Obviously, that is not to say I'd be against having one, but with our collection of above agerage to elite role players do we really need a Lebron or a Kobe to push us over the hump? I don't really think we do(working under the assumption that we'd keep one or both of Brooks/Martin).

Something tells me if he comes here, it will be about the team and not the exposure or branding.

The comparison I was attempting to make is that some GM's give max contract to non max players.

While Melo is arguably better than all 3 of those, he is on par in his production overall on the floor.

I don't think Melo is worth the money, and I don't believe the Rockets think that either.

    But...that is only my opinion.
