no I will not that is how confident I am in the fact that the coachs not only realize Battier is still not 100%, but they also realize what he brings on the floor. I am willing to put my entire 10+ year posting history on the line....just how confident are YOU?
lol i love how battier fan boys keep mentioning his passion and stuff he brings to the agme that no one can measure lol. that's like saying bushes approval rate doesnt matter because hes scaring away the terrorist.
so i take it you are not confident good to see you realize how clueless you are. EXPOSED trademark TJ 2009
you notice how he failed to respond directly to me after that? very very telling oh...btw Mr Clueless astroswhatteveryournumber.....I made zero mention of what qualities I feel he brings....but obviously the coaches see something.....he is still there. and further clarification for you...the only authentic jersey I own is a Scola jersey...so if I am anyone's "fanboy" it is for a certain long-haired Argentine forward. I just also happen to appreciate good defense....unlike you, who wouldnt know a good defensive play if it bit him on his ass. I also see both sides of the court, I dont judge a player based on how many points he puts on the board.
battier should start despite he's been out of shape..let ron ron coming out of the bench can he be more efficient.. it is only a matter of playing time.. ron needs 35+ mins while shane deserves lesser mins.
you're talking about a border line - all star artest, and you're not going to start him why? he needs to start and AB and Luis is playing well.
Let's not forget Battier's season didn't really start after he came back after sitting out. This is the equivalent of the first month of the season for him. Similar to what Tmac did, but with less drama.
As good as Artest is on D, he is not as quick as Battier laterally and can not guard the perimeter players nearly as well. DD
not gonna happen, Artest off the bench is more of a threat than he is in the starting lineup with Yao and Mac.
Battier fits better with the starters, no question about that. BUT, the dude is becoming Chuck Hayes-esque on the offense, he's a statue and a non-factor on that side of the court. And I certainly would cheat off of him if I was guarding him. His open 3-balls aren't money, which makes him even more worthless cause that's the one thing we really need him to do on the offense.
AKA fake hustle. Funny how his much vaunted "upper echelon" defense fails to stop players when it matters (which, if you are counting, is most of the time). Not to mention that you his he parks at the 3 point line all day and still builds brick houses shamelessly. A forward with zero inside game ... on any other team, Battier would be a perennial DNP.
battier's a little out of shape but he'll be ok. it's funny that people seem to be completely clueless of what these players play like when they're healthy. yao, artest, t-mac, battier. these guys have all had rough spots this season but we all should know exactly what they're capable of. i'm a little surprised at the timing of this thread because i was watching shane on transition defense today in awe of how fantastic he plays it. and over the last few games he's started to come around defensively. i can't for the life of me understand what people are watching when they call him a scrub. he's a heck of a lot better defender than artest that's for sure. over the course of this season i think every single player on this team, other than maybe von wafer, has been called a scrub by someone. that's pretty funny.
I would do very little to change the rotation right now. Very minor tweaks depending on who's hot and who's not, but that's it. Let's hope for better health.
last year when we were starting hayes at the 4, we weren't playing as well as we were with scola. i think this is the same scenerio. i'm in the minority, but i say give ron a chance at the starting 3 spot, and let him and battier and mac rotate the 2 and the 3 getting equal minutes.
if he shot more, then he'd be an asset for the offense, but he doensn't. we don't need that. we need threats from all 5 positions. good point.
