are you out of your mind? please show me what swift did in his five years before coming here that proves van gundy wasted his talent. i vote for all of the above in the poll.
Based on sheer odds alone, its unlikely for any NBA team entering any given season to win the title. Then, factor in the basic realities that the gap between the Rockets and the league's elite is fairly wide and the odds become even worse. With management's inability to surround our top two with quality, coupled with the growing concerns over McGrady's healthy, it's highly unlikely that this duo wins a title together. Most likely scenario sees us making one good run within the next 3 years before McGrady retires. If you keep stockpiling veterans, that leaves you with a team of Yao and noone. I just hope we don't waste his prime.
I think our bench is probably just as good as Jaren Jackson, Malik Rose, Antonio Daniels, Steve Kerr, Jerome Kersey, and Will Perdue in 1999. We will have Head, Mutombo, Hayes, Howard or Alston (assuming we start Mike James and depending on where we play Battier) and maybe Bogans, Novak, or someone all getting significant bench minutes.
