I'm with DennisCD on this. Who cares what JL3 and Snyder think? They're not even going to be on the active roster come opening, they may not even be on our roster come opening night. How about TMac, Yao, Rafer, Hayes, Mutombo, Battier; what do these guys have to say? Nobody cares about 5th stringers. That's what JVG had last year, thanks to CD. Morey's the Wizard.

Oh come on, you make it too easy. Did you just miss the winky guy?

As for the topic, what is wrong with the players liking one style over another?

At the end of the day Adelman will be judged by the same jury as JVG...wins in the post season.....

Orange, you convienently left out Bonzi.......

    LOL.

The probability of a coach not taking you to the Finals when they never won a playoff series is pretty high.

The irony with Chaney is that he was Coach of the Year.

F**k Jeff Van Gundy. He didn't do jack sh*t for us that was worth losing Rudy over. Flame away Rox. That short b*stard is where he belongs...no longer on our sideline.

F'n no offense knowing r****d wasted four ******* years...

JVG deserves all the cheapshots he get. Good riddance to a terrible coach.

LOL. That didn't come out right. I meant to say that all the other coaches took us to the finals.

    Del, Fitch, and Rudy

I noticed, however, that no one said this camp is better. More fun, different, more free, will get you into game shape. But, no player has yet said it was more effective than JVG's practices. And, I doubt anyone will. And, I doubt any of the rotation guys from JVG's team is going to say Adelman is the best coach they've ever played for, like they did for JVG.

I'm not saying Adelman isn't a better coach. I'm hoping he is. But, the rotation guys have a lot more respect for the job JVG did than the posters here.

I think if I remember right (which I hardly ever remember) that JVG was brought to tighten up the ship, sort of take the coaching mantle away from Steve and Cat.

If I remember right (I rarely do) he tried and Steve didn't get it and we robbed Orlando for TMac.

If I remember right (never mind) JVG coached TMac and Yao and a bunch of scrubs to the playoffs and overcame injury issues to the only two players worth starting in the playoffs. And I believe we had one of the best defenses in the league and most of the past champions of the league played that kind of defense.

Forget that we had junk surrounding Tmac and Yao as scoring options, unless you think Rafer and Battier qualify as third scoring options; and we had next to zero bench scoring. Just look at our BENCH scoring last season.

I wouldn't have minded watching JVG coach Scola, MJames, Francis, along with AB... but I'm glad we made a change.

We needed a change, JVG had unchangeable faults- like over attention to detail and a doghouse. (let's assume they are faults)

So Goodby JVG... you make a good commentator.

Rick A - I always thought you should have beat the Lakers and I didn't really like your game, but now that you wear the Rocket Red, I am all behind you.

(Rick- just don't let Stevie or MJ (not Jordan) think they are the #2 option, because in the past neither has shown the unselfish play and smarts and defense that TMac brought through some other coach's influence)

JVG was a damn good coach. Maybe not the best coach possible, but he's one of the best defensive coaches in the league.

That being said, Adelman looks like a breath of fresh air. JVG had a way of making games into a contest of which team could hold their breath the longest.

JVG's stubbornness really pushed him back from being liked by many people. Now that he's gone, I couldn't be any happier. :D

    Great point.

Even Les Alexander, the guy who let JVG go and brought in Adelman, couldn't bring himself to say that this method was better. He said Adelman's style might be better, but he can't say for sure.

JVG himself IS responsible to his junk team and no bench. He has a good collection of scrubs because he just loves scrubs.

    and don't ignore this fact:

No matter how great JVG is in practice,

He did bad coaching job in real game, in clutch time.
