Hmm..so for each person..your height because of genes or because of other factors?

    Exercise and sleep a lot?

And for people who continued to grow a looooooong time..did y'all hit puberty late?

Mine is mostly genetic; both my parents were tall. Of course, they did make me drink big glasses of milk twice a day... I joke about that making me taller or having thick bones. I've never broken a bone other than hairline fractures.

I'm 6'6". My dad was 6'2". My mom is 5'8". My Dad was by far the tallest in his family. Same with my mom. We're all just freaks I guess.

I don't know, probably genetic (Dad is 6' and mom is 5'4" so I'm their average), but I had horrible eating and sleeping habits in my teens, and my torso is too long for my legs. Always wondered if I was meant to be taller.

I started shaving in the 9th grade, needless to say that's when I stopped getting taller.

My Mom is 5' tall and my Dad is 5' 10"

Lots of exercise - lots of sleep. ;)

Hit puberty at the normal age.

I went from about 5' 2" or 3" during my sophomore year to 5' 10" my senior year.

Well, I would actually be 6'8 had the doctors not stopped the growth in my other leg when I was 16. They had determined by looking at the x-rays that my leg would grow two more inches, but the other one was already some inches shorter (it had been broken several times). Anyway, stopping the growth in my "healthy" leg was not enough to make them equal, so they still had to extend the other leg later.

So I am "only" 6'6 now, but at least both legs have the same length :).

6'6''!!! That's pretty dang tall. 99 percentile at least. I wouldn't want to get taller unless I was a professional basketball player. I'm sure it must suck for you when you're on a plane or in a small car... Of course I'd rather be 6'6'' than 4'6''. :D . Join my basketball team, lol.

I stopped growing around 14 and up until I was about 29 would wear the same size clothes. Now I got to deal with that I've grown at least 2 inches in my waist. I played center and forward in basketball in middle school but I was playing guard by the time I was playing IM ball in college. It took me quite awhile to learn to dribble and shoot from outside since I had mostly been taught before was blocking out and getting rebounds.

I'm stopped groing when I was 21. I grew an inch between 20 and 21. I'm about avg. in the low range of avg. But I play like a giant on the basketball court...

    A giant clown that is.

Ahh.. I don't think it has anything to do with your "Asian Genes". I'm Asian and I'm 5'11, I also have bunch Asian friends who's over 6 feet. There are short and tall people in every race.

I was always a short kid being a gymnast and all.. I went into high school at 5 feet tall. I quit gymnastics my sophomore year and grew 6 inches between that year and senior year. I grew another 2 inches in college so that puts me at about 5'9 now.

I thought I had stopped growing my junior year in high school, but over the last couple months (my freshman year in college) I've gone from 6'3" to 6'4". My dad is just shy of 6' and my mom is about 5'7", but my grandfather is about 6'5". So time will tell if I keep getting bigger.

I don't know how the whole genes thing works, but my mom is 5'2" and my dad is 5'9"...I'm 5'11", my older brother is 6'0", and my younger brother is 6'3"...if you were to average the height of my parents, I'd prolly be as tall as the guy who posted above ;)
