    This.

While I respect the job Morey has done, and agree that the Scola deal was especially masterful, I am not a part of the "In Morey We Trust" lemming set that proliferate the GARM.
I don't gloss over his missteps, though thankfully they have been few and far between.
I am still waiting to see the move that puts us over the top.

I do admire the fact that he seems perpetually active in his pursuit to better the team.

When he trade Donte, Bobby, Dorsey for Ron Artest!!!

It made us to be a real Championship contender.....
    however,...T-MAC ruined our plan

We should all be fans of Morey as long as he continues to improve our team and lead the Rockets in the right direction. So far he has done a really really good job, and we couldn't ask for more.

Rockets have had a string of bad luck, considering all of our injuries, Morey has put a great product out there for us fans.

With all that cash tied up on two players, It has been remarkable watching him operate.
Morey himself will tell you that it's a team effort, like the exceptional job the scouting department has done.

    really????

i don't dislike the man. and i wish him well. but i can't categorize myself as a "fan" of any executive of any organization in the country.

i'm an aaron brooks fan because he plays basketball for my favorite team...because he's fun to watch play. i root for guys on the court. i don't root for guys in suits sitting at desks. that's just not part of my attraction to sports at all.

That's completely reasonable. A lot of people also admire other things sort of separately from play on the floor, like how a team is put together or how an organization is run. With all the information about behind the scenes dealing being more and more available and discussed online, the management stuff becomes part of the attraction.

I just want to say one thing.

DD is a liar and he would Jazz all over himself if he got the chance to meet Chase Budinger.

Also the heretics will pay for their blasphemies against Morey.

I actually came back to watching more of the Rockets that year because we resigned Steve Francis. I wasn't sold on Morey until I saw how great the additions of Scola, Landry and Brooks made the team, as well as how Morey acquiring Bobby Jackson was more about covering for an ailing Alston, since Brooks, Head and Francis obviously weren't going to be good back ups or starters at that time, as we found out in the playoffs.

That was when I started to like him and all the moves he has done have been stuff that make sense and have usually benefited the team in some point. I'm not a 100% sold on the latest move but it makes sense to me as well.

I voted for the Lowry deal for the exact same reason that you've mentioned.
