I think this is the best outcome at this point (guarantees a Democrat victory, imo), and it's certainly possible, but I don't know how much of a likelihood to ascribe to it. When you're talking about persuading super delegates, it isn't really about statistics anymore -- discrete decisions by a handful of individuals can move history one way or the other.
I'm not convinced he's even going to need to persuade any unbound delegates. If he pulls out Indiana I think he's going to win the nomination outright.

Mojoman, I give you credit for being a true supporter, but you the fat lady is warming up in the tunnel. Cruz's expected announcement that Carly will be his vp when he badly trails Trump amounts to nothing short of desperation. Lol. The other guy, Kasich, is even worse for staying in the race. Dude wants to be potus all the while having won a grand total of........1 state, his own. In fact, Kasich has even less of a delegate total than Rubio, who dropped out years ago, it seems. Just a pathetic figure, this Kasich guy.
Dude, if Kasich drops out and declares to be Cruz's veep candidates, his supporters may vote for Cruz.
I have just figured out the ultimate winning strategy for Cruz, Mojo Man, so please forward this message to your most TrusTed contacts high up in the campaign - he needs to pick somebody, basically somebody way more popular than retread Fiorina, maybe Rand Paul Ryan or someone) as his VP, and then pledge to resign within 24 hours, rendering that person President. this is the PERFECT way for him to rally support around himself, because he will pick up not only Cruz voters, but people who strongly dislike Cruz and want nothing more than to see him gone.
Maybe Cruz can name three VP candidates... Kasich, to appeal to sane Kasich followers; Carson, to appeal to black Republicans. And Carly, to attract the women, ugly, and unlikable voters. No reason he can't have three veeps, is there? He'd capture all possible GOP voters!
It never works that way. There are congressional districts in California that kasich can win that would never vote for a nut job like cruz
Agree with this. This whole "establishment vs anti-establishment" nonsense is a product of the tea party fools and the boobs on talk-radio. It all started when Obama was elected. Now, thanks to them, the party is going to implode. They will have you believe that it's because of the "establishment" GIVING IN TO ANYTHING OBAMA WANTS!!!!!!!!11111, but the truth is, it's all on them. They're too blind to understand it though. In fact, they will probably up the 'crazy' even more (if that's possible...) in 4 years when they're trying to defeat President Hillary.
Breaking news... Senator Ted Cruz will announce Donald Trump as his Vice President running mate in a news conference in New York City this evening. While some may see it as another desperate move to derail the Trump campaign, the approach has captured the attention of media and reality TV fans who will now be able to distinguish the Texas senator from female adult movie stars and former rockers that bear an uncanny resemblance to the senator. Donald Trump was quick to turn down the offer however, but not without adding he thought the Cruz finally made a good move. "I would make the best Vice President ever," said Trump, "but I am too busy becoming the best President ever". In related news, Carly Fiorina was quoted "That lying scum Ted... "
I don't know if that was the best move, Teddy. It looks very reactive to Hillar being the nominee. Carly can't save you. Trump making a mockery of America can't save you. Nothing can, at this point. Trump has the nomination on lockdown, and I still don't understand who can still support the donald after all of this. Who is this voting base?
