He ran for US Senator in Texas as an ultra-conservative "Obama-bad" Republican. "That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off."
If the "nobody likes Cruz" narrative were accurate, he wouldn't have been the Republican party's candidate. There's no doubt that he rubs a LOT of people the wrong way, and we've seen in his campaign those kinds of dirty politics that people b**** about, but the narrative is a bit over the top. I'm not really a fan of Cruz, but I don't see him as any different than Hillary Clinton when it comes to being unlikable. They are nowhere near Trump when it comes to being unlikable, but people just don't get a good feeling about them.
Rush Limbaugh on Ted Cruz's victory in Colorado: "Ted Cruz Isn't Cheating, He's Winning" Of course Rush is correct about this. Trump's failure in Colorado is due entirely to the actions of his own campaign. Once again, Trump is crying "not fair" like a spoiled child that is accustomed to getting its way by pitching a public fit. That is NOT how the rules work in the Republican nominating process. Nor should they.
I love how all of these Cruz supporters are defending the "rules" of the nominating process and the convention when they were screaming for months that the rules were going to be used by the so called "establishment" to "steal" the nomination. Now that it is Cruz using those rules it's all good!
Do you have some sort of link to Cruz supporters screaming that the rules were going to be used by the establishment to "steal" the convention? If that was happening, I must have missed that. Trump has been doing that, but I do not recall Cruz or his supporters doing that. In fact, the establishment is probably going to have to change the rules in a major way at the last minute in order to steal it. Reince Preibus, the chair of the RNC, has said he expects the nominee to be one of the three candidates currently in the race. You do have to campaign in these states if you want to win. In Colorado, Cruz did, while Trump didn't. Cruz won. As a result, Trump has nobody to blame but himself for this. And not just in Colorado, either. He had failed to show up in a lot of states for the actual delegate selection process. This is on him.
Donald should have been watching out. Clearly, he wasn't. He better learn fast, or he is going to get sent packing at the national convention with an apple and a road map.
