I hope so. I hope he gets mad, and demands a trade in the summer. I never hated a rocket as much as I hate him. Its not just his poor play but his attitude that gets to me.

    I think so too

I also don't think his ego could handle a move to the bench

Ariza plays really well on the offensive side of the ball when he is the third or fourth option on the floor.

Ariza basicly has to moves that are better then average

!. The one on one slash to the basket off s pump fake.

    2. A open set three pointer.

Those are the 2 things he does really well on offensive side of the ball. Being on the court with martin brooks and scola will give him more of those opportunities.

No team is going to double on ariza and leave brooks are martin open instead and if for some reason they do we can exploit the blown coverage.

I Just hope we are able to have a our whole team back before the final 20 games of the season.

If we have all our pieces I think we have a complete enough of a group that we have a real shot at the 7th or 8 spot.

Some people are delusional thinking that Trevor is a selfish, Ball hog, Cancer.

Why would Trevor get pissed off about not having the ball when he's been a great role player for a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM?

When the trade happened he gladly played along with Martin and Brooks. His play as steadily gotten better with good shooting % and great off P&R.

You guys can hate him all you want but his contributions on the court equate to WINS. He's been driving to the basket and attacking more. He's been shooting spot up 3's instead of off the dribble.

hate him all you want but he will start at SF. He'll be here a while so get used to it.

    Reek,

Trevor came here to expand his game, if he goes back to being the role player he was, do you think he will be happy?

He's not ego maniac. On this team you become the go too guy when you get hot. AB sucks some nights and Martin will have to be the man. Sometimes Trevor will have to step up.

When has Trevor EVER shown that he is selfish? Show me?

This team has won this year because they worked together. Ariza and Scola/Hayes are GREAT at P&R's. Now that Martin is here he can explode to the basket like he has before. I believe Trevor didn't really come here to BE the man but because he liked how we played and didn't like how the lakers treated him in free agency.

Well he did talk about this being a good situation for him to expand his role....

Oh well, I guess we shall see.

Battier goes to bench. Trevor was playing better with Martin & Brooks before he got hurt. We need Trevor to step up his game so as to trade Shane in the offseason.

This is the key question here.

People need to realize that, although Ariza has been in the league since 2004, he was basically a high school kid when he came in. He came out after his freshman year at UCLA, but his birthday is so late in the school year that he just as easily could have been a high school senior. Dude is almost six months YOUNGER than Aaron Brooks.

I think the fact that Ariza had brief stints in New York and Orlando before landing in L.A. lead many to think that he's been around for a long time, but he hasn't. He is still developing as a player.

As a kid who JUST turned 24, Ariza obviously was excited to go to a situation in Houston where he could expand his offensive game, rather than languish in the corner shooting 3s in the triangle offense. That doesn't make him a diva or a selfish player. I agree with REEKO that people are reading way too much into Trevor's demeanor for much of this season. That look of disgust on his face is about HIMSELF. No one's more down on Trevor Ariza's poor shooting this year than Trevor Ariza.

That said, I think that if Ariza is giving some time to play with Kevin Martin, he will blossom. Sure, he's no star. But he's a quality, quality role player who has been playing outside of the role for which he was signed last summer. Now, with Kevin Martin in the fold, Trevor can go back to that role.

Isn't it obvious!?, you bench Shane "Father Time" Battier... there's no reason his old ass should be getting minutes over Ariza(24) & Budinger(21) in a developing year....

But is he SATISFIED being a role player? That is the question.

That's like asking AB if he'll be satisfied being second fiddle to Martin?

    Only they know.

Didn't Ariza turn down the Cavs to come here? If he did then I think it's safe to say he came here to be a main cog. You don't turn down equal money and a very, very good shot at winning Championships to go to a non-contending team unless you think you're going to get to shoot the ball A LOT.

I think if he had been asked to reduce his role on offense from the beginning he would not have had handled it well. Now, that he has hopefully come to realize how much he sucks as an offensive player he might accept a lesser role. If not, then get rid of him.

True, but you can see how they play together on the foor and make some deductions.

Let's see how Trevor does now that Kevin is here and he is further down the pecking order.....

Probably at number 4 as a starter behind :

    Kmart, AB, and Scola.

Next year he would drop to 5 once Yao is back....

that's exactly where needs to be. The go to guy on this team should never be about the size of the contract but the player doing well at the time.

Feed the hot hand. I do see AB or Scola getting traded this summer though.

They do if they really want to lead and make sure there is good chemistry.

not much history but the whole S&T situation has come up. I hope he can find a way to pry Rubio out of Minny's hands

    but I digress,

There are more changes to come I sure of it.

Only that he only came here (compared to possible championship teams...) when he was told he would be "featured" in the Rockets offense, logic says he won't be happy if he was moved to a minor role.
