    MacBeth! Paging MacBeth! (j/k :) )

Hey, at least you're willing to defend your guy. And I respect that. I just completely disagree with you. Bush is the worst President in modern political history, in my opinion. He's certainly the worst President I've seen in my lifetime, and I'm old enough to have voted against Tricky Dick Nixon.

I truly fear for the country if he gets re-elected. But I don't think that's going to happen. I trust in the fundamental good judgement of the American people to see what is bad and dangerous for the United States. Sometimes it takes a few years for things to sink in, but they make a change of direction sooner or later, away from extremism and dishonesty. If Bush were more intelligent, he could have finessed many of his problems. He's not that intelligent.

If you want to know what is happening now to this Administration, read my signature.

Let's see Bush and his cronies support:

    1. Widespread deregulation and rollback/dismantling of government institutions by means of crushing deficits (the "starve the beasters") to a Hooverite, pre- New Deal era as well as the concentration/aggregation of wealth& power to a level unseen in a 100 years (elimination of the estate tax, FCC deregulation, decreased antitrust enforcement, etc)

    2. Illegal leaking of information to discredit (and endanger) internal dissent (the Plame Affair) and bellcose threats of trumped up official investigations (O'Neill) (retro Nixonian)

    3. An overseas military engagement in the Arab world that has boiled down to a prolonged guerilla campaign with a nasty body count.

Yup, he might hit the hat trick before we're all said and done.

Rep. Porter J. Goss, R-Fla., said he heard a 1998 speech in which then-President Clinton (news - web sites) warned that something must be done about Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and his weapons of mass destruction.

When intelligence spending was increased in 1993, Goss complimented the Clinton administration "for going into this and seeing our true need," Boorstin quoted Goss as saying at the time.
