I dont think Jordan even averaged anything in double figures at A&M. Watching a lot of Aggie games he rode the pine for good reason. He may of been drafted earlier if it weren't for his moron agent who didnt let him work out for teams over 20th pick. Im glad the Rockets didnt pick him, he would have taken longer to mold and probably wont pan out anyway.

There are no similarities between Chuck Hayes and Dorsey.

I say you wait and see what other moves Morey has in mind for the team before you judge the pick. What if his plan involves moving Hayes in a package deal to bring in another scorer or legit backup C? Then Dorsey makes a WHOLE lotta sense. So chill for a lil bit. Dorsey is a good pickup as a physical, athletic, defensive PF and maybe some backup C (cause there are not alot of backup 7 ft C's in the west [worth anything] if you think about it).

We can beat most of the teams in the NBA without Yao and without Dorsey.

The question is not how Dorsey will perform in 75% of the games this year, it is if he can help us in a playoff series.

    That means:
How well will he perform against and defend Duncan, Garnett, Gasol, Bynum, West, and Wallace (the world's best 7 footers)?

    I'll add one more question:
Will he get Yao into the playoffs healthier by taking some of his minutes in the regular season?

do people who want deandre jordan for any other reason other than 7 feet and he's athletic?? this team needs pitbulls.......having height and athleticism is useless if you dont have the right mentality (see stromile swift) if swift had half the attitude joey dorsey has he'd be a stud by now.

Morey seems convinced that Dorsey will contribute this season. Since I'm assuming that Scola/Landry will be our rotation at the 4, Dorsey should be getting at least some minutes spelling Yao.

I agree. Morey mentioned that CDR has problems getting his shot off against NBA caliber talent and, as a slasher, wasn't the ideal fit in Adelman's system. As for Dorsey, I love this pick. The Rockets have a banger who can keep up with the Amares and and bust heads against the Jazz.

Do they see him as a PF or C? I think Morey also made a mention of Dorsey playing along side Yao. The Rockets could be looking back at the how well Yao played next to Cato. Possibly Scola plays more minutes at C?
