I was born in Germany....my parents are from the United States...but my dad was in the air force. I'm German though. I never hear the end of Nazi jokes....
Paul....after my dad & his dad....I always though "Cooter" who be a great middle name though....not really,... I'm medicated...
Freeman is my middle name and was given to me to honor my dad's mother, my granny, as that was her maiden name. For years, I hated that name and finally asked my dad one day if I could change it. He then told me that if I changed my middle name, it would break my granny's heart. So, of course, I dropped the idea of getting rid of Freeman. As I have gotten older, I have sorta grown to love it, besides Jonathan Freeman Young has a good ring to it.
This is an odd adide to these posts. I have a "very" unique last name. Less than 20 people in the U.S. have my last name, and they're all family. However, there is this French Writer with my last name who is a Nazi Sympathizer. And He has A LOT of crap about this on the web. It really pisses me off! (ie. a potential girlfriend/wife wants to look my last name up on the web. Much to her (and my) chagrin, she sees dozen's and dozen's of site's containing good old b*stard Paul!) I'm very proud of my last name, but this guy does nothing but enrage me! I've never been a proponent of justifiable homicides, but this comes very close. Anyone else had something like this happen?
Waylette-- my dad's mother's maiden name. She was Mabel Waylett. He added the E for a flourish! It's Welsh, I believe.
Foreman which is also my Dad's middle name. It used to be his last name but he changed it to 'Duncan' when my grandmother remarried. If I have a son his middle name is going to be Foreman. Just a way to keep the actual family name in the family.
