the way that cinematography fits in with the story. For instance the vast desert scenes in Lawrence of Arabia are truly amazing. It is just such a huge scope captured really well. The use of colors from an extremely red hot brick wall in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing and the way other colors contrast off of that, adds to the feeling of the film which takes place in the middle of a heat wave. Things like that add something extra to a film, that I go crazy for. I think the sets in almost every Terry Gilliam movie probably are my favorite of all. Brazil just has an amazing look to it all the way through.
For me I fell asleep within the first 20 minutes of Russian Ark. My girl said it was a good movie though. Later I did some research, and I learned this film was made in less than 2 hrs of filming.
Movie that comes to mind is The Transporter. It had great action but the acting and plot was so pathetic that I hated it.
I heard the movie was shot on the second take. And I too fell asleep. My favorite movie car chase was in Ronin.
