Walleye is fantastic! But I moved from Indiana to Texas 27 years ago and have had it only one time since. :(

This is pretty common with a lot of fish, and not just restaurants. A lot of sea bass is often sold as something else.

That's also what happened to Orange Roughy which wasn't selling so much when it was called Slimefish. Of course now Orange Roughy is endangered because of overfishing.

I like fish and don't have a particular favorite.

I like salmon a lot of ways (except for fried) but few things compare to a really fresh piece of tuna when it is as bright as a ruby.
Grilled bluefish and trout are really delicious.

I only really like catfish fried Southern style. I will eat Tilapia but don't really like dirt taste to it.

That presumably non-profit website posting a non-commercial public domain brand and image sure is indignant about their hotlinks.

Fresh caught Gulf Red Snapper, or Red Fish. Cooked any number of ways, it can't be beat, although flounder you just gigged while wading in the bay at night with a lantern is pretty damned good as well. I haven't done that in ages. Used to gig flounder frequently when I was a kid, down around San Luis Pass. God, I love fresh caught red fish. I'm hungry just thinking about it. Toss in a mess of fresh and cold boiled shrimp, and a couple of dozen fried shrimp, along with some cocktail sauce with a lot of horseradish in it, and I'm in heaven.
