i use that stuff for everything. it works great when cooking beef and chicken and anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is Sriracha an Asian thing? How many of the people advocating that stuff are Asian? I've never really heard of that stuff being popular. I'll have to give it a try sometime.
Can anyone throw out a few places where I might get sriracha? I've had it before and would love to get some again, but I can't seem to find a place that has it around here (Gainesville, Florida).
while i am asian and i like it, i have never tasted in any asian country, i think its more popular here in america than it is in asia. as for the guy in florida, you can go to any asian supermarket and they have have them, same with spanish supermarkets i think, and if you really deperate, just buy tehm from a chiense food store.
Ah hot sauce one of my favorite topics. These days I've been eating a lot of Sambal Belacan (pronounced Sahm-bahl Blah-chahng) that is a Malaysian chilli sauce with fermented shrimp paste. Its got a pretty strong seafood flavor and a little goes a long way. Its really good with mild flavored seafood or chicken and I've been using it on things like fishsticks and ramen. I like Siracha on a lot of things and have found it really works well with fried chicken and mixed with ketchup is great for french fries or onion rings. Its got a bit of a sweet taste though that doesn't seem to go well with things like eggs. I'm a big fan or red and green salsa and while I obviously like it with Mexican food I'm big fan of salsa on pizza or with eggs. I've found salsa with an egg fried rice is really good and like to add some right into the fried rice at the end of cooking. Another favorite thing I like with salsa is Roti Prata (a type of Indian pan fried flat bread.) When I'm eating out I'll will use tabasco since pretty much everywhere has it. I generally like tabasco with eggs and hashbrowns but will also mix it with ketchup for fries and things. Here's my Pico De Gallo recipe: Equal parts minced Tomato and Onion One part minced de-seeded Jalepeno pepper per 3 part Tomato and Onion Minced Parsley to taste Minced Cilantro to taste Douse with Rice Wine Vinegar Salt Cumin Curry Powder
I am a hot sauce junkie. I typically have at least 5 different brands for stuff I'm cooking. Sriracha is absolutely awesome on chinese food. Any asian food except Japan. But, c'mon, people! Anything? I wouldn't put it on sushi - that is wasabi (or, actually just a horseradish mixture. You can't get actual wasabi in the US) Cajun? Nooo. Tabasco, louisiana hot sauce, or some other fun hot sauce. Mexican? Noooo. I'll stick to salsa and tabasco and jalepenos. Breakfast? Nooo. Tabasco, if anything.
MOST of the HOT SAUCES (Mexican and Asian): http://www.latinmerchant.com/produc...es&SubCat=Not So Fancy Hot Sauces&subCatID=16 My wife bought this red HOT sauce that also comes in green. That sh*t burns holes on my tongue and once left me HICCUPping for about 10 hours on straight and didn't let me sleep. Is that SH*T with CORN??? That doesn't look right. Man, all of a sudden I am about to... [ugh] lose my lunch... that doesn't... [blllleaa] look right... [bl]...[bblll]... mpphhh...
