A&M was the only college team I've really ever followed since I was a kid, that being said, never been a huge college sports fan
Well, I obviously am going with Tech. Other SWC conference schools don't mean much to me, but I grew up an Aggie fan, so I still kinda like them, as long as they're not ahead of Tech in wins, which is a rarity anyway. I don't care about most of the other schools, with the exception being UT. They have put together a great program, and I respect that. But the thousands of "new" UT fans makes me want to puke. The bandwagon bunch makes this school hated by quite a few. I grew up in Houston. I certainly wasn't this UT based 10 years ago. And Buck Turgidson: Your comment about Tech makes absolutely no sense. Zero. Two years in a row we have played two teams that both were ranked #1 at one point or had an argument as to why they should be #1. We dominated Cal two years ago, and we lost to Alabama on a last second field goal. Plus, this year we are projected by many to finish 2nd in the Big 12 south, above OU. Get your facts straight before you spout off that we aren't serious enough to matter. Did you feel that way when we outright beat UT 4 years ago. UT has played us very well the last three years. Still doesn't mean we can't take them this year.
As much as I hate to admit it cause of folks like ICUP2000 and Rocket Teen, I grew up an A&M football fan. My first memory of college football is watching FSU vs. A&M in the Cotton Bowl. I also remember the back to back heartbreak losses to ND. I remember one Thanksgiving night skipping a party to watch UT vs. A&M. I hated the Horns till I came to UT. Now I hate the fAggies.
Enjoy Mike Leach while you can. If he doesn't bolt for greener pasture this year than he will next year. And then it's back to the gutter for tech.
What the hell are you talking about? #1 - please show me some report stating Leach has any intention of leaving. #2 - We weren't exactly in the gutter before Leach. We did win the SWC in the 90's, and beat both UT and A&M quite soundly before Leach arrived. Do you even watch football? Somehow, I doubt it.

Yeah I know what you mean, Tech defense can't possibly keep up with the defenses like the wrecking crew of A&M who finished dead last in pass defense last year. FYI, Mike Leach signed an extension at the beginning of the year till 2010.
You know those extensions aren't air tight. They all have some sort of buyout which in this case might be about 2 mil. That's peanuts to a university like Michigan or Miami. Who depending on thier respective season outcomes might be looking for a new HC.
And you found these articles where, exactly? Quit talking out of your ass. ANY coach can be bought out, and I'm sure some schools have looked at Leach. But your take is just you being bitter for some reason.
The night shift Adam & Mat touch on the SWC breakup last night with caller. They said when the SWC broke up everone in the coference got caught for cheating with exception of UT and that was kind of fishy.
