I'm a UH Cougar fan myself. I figure the University of Texas is gonna get the lions share, with Texas A&M University second. But I don't know how its gonna shake out after that. EDITon't kill me Fatty....I forgot the Texas Tech Red Raiders.... Please forgive me....
The University of Houston, of course, although they were kept out of the SWC for many years by Texas and A&M. What was sweet was the drubbing UH gave Texas after finally being let in. I just loved watching it!
I had two brothers who went to SMU-- the oldest during the heyday of Chuck Hixon and Jerry LeVias in the last sixties-- so I've always been kind of partial to them. I went to A&M briefly before moving to North Carolina. My dad went to UT.... so I have loyalties running in every direction.
I've always rooted for Texas, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Baylor since my Dad grew up in Waco and he, along with both of my sisters went there. Plus, eight summers of Baylor Basketball Camp ruled.
UT for football UH for basketball Rice for baseball I will always pull for a Texas school if they're playing a non-Texas school....unless it's SFA.

Hook 'em...my blood runs orange. However.... I do like TCU and Baylor. I sorta like UH, Rice and Texas Tech. I don't hate A&M as much as I used to (OU has replaced them on the hate scale). SMU I could care less about. Preppies in large numbers make me ill.
The COBB days in Rice are what I remember. Stack24, you forgot Wetherspoon and Manny Hazard from UH's run-and-shoot days.
UT Rice ATM Couldn't care less about the rest. It would be nice to dislike TT football, but they're just not serious enough to matter. Would be nice to like UH hoops, but the same applies, and their coach is a jackhole.

I picked Arkansas because that's where I'm currently in school. Also, I think it can easily be said that glory days of the school's athletics happened when it was still in the SWC. They did win the NCAA tournament a few years after leaving the SWC, but the team had been to a couple of final fours prior to that. Can someone explain to me why the SWC broke up? I'd assume it would have a lot to do with the bigger schools (Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tech) wanting to be in a conference with other premier (athletically speaking) public Universities and not sharing revenues with a bunch of smaller private schools that couldn't contribute as much, financially, to the conference.
Don't worry, its not a real school anyway...There's nothing up there but steers and que....oh, my bad... UofH, of course, Read my Sig...I loved the Ware days...made Houston fun...I actually saw him once in person, at Treasures... I also liked watching SMU and EDickerson...man, that guy was great...This is the year for Cougar basketball...I can't wait...
