And this would be more humiliating than other photochops? I was a freaking lightbulb in another thread.
What was that big ass dinosaur in Jurassic Park III with the fan-like appendage on its spine that killed the T-Rex and busted through that big fence?
My favorite was this one dinosaur, I forgot the name, that was like a T-Rex but like much bigger and probably better. I don't think they ever got all of the dinosaur though. I think they only found the arm or something and it dwarfed the T-Rex's arm. I had it in some book. I think it started with a C or something. I used to be a big dinosaur fan when I was younger. They were my only interest at the time. I remember reading about Ultrasauruseseseseses and other huge dinos. I wanted to work on them, but I think I got turned off on the idea when I saw them working out in an African desert just sifting through sand for 90 days.
Allosaurus, no doubt. One of the highlights of what has become a pretty crappy year was watching a baby Allosaurus/scorpion fight on the Discovery channel last March. A digital recreation, sure, but that **** was on!
Charcharodontosaurus? Gigantosaurus? Spinosaurus? I still want to do this type of work in the field someday. Growing up, physics, astronomy, and paleontology were my favorite things to read about. I'd love to go into the African desert and sift sand for 90 days. Well, maybe not "love", but it seems interesting...
Awesome thread!!! I'd have to say that in terms of looks, my fave would be Styracosaurus. But overall gotta give it to the big body Rex! And is anybody else pissed about how T-Rex is always jobbing out to silly things like monkeys and Spinosaurs? I read somewhere that the next Kong flick is going to have a whole pack of Rexes taken down. Scavenger maybe, but still the baddest thing on land. As DoD said above, the "C" one is Charcharodontosaurus, a close African relative of South America's Giganatosaurus, IIRC. Though the gigantic arms you are referring to might be that of Deinocheirus. Here's a great site I used to waste time on freshman year: www.jpinstitute.com
I know that he was a plant-eater, but I always liked the Brachiosaurus because he had the cool hole on the top of his head (that way he could always stay in water). The Diplodocus (sp?) was another huge dino that was a plant eater (I wanted to go with some obscure plant-eaters besides the standard ones like Brontosaurus and Triceratops).
Agreed! Short, squat, but a freaking armored tank with a spiked mace for a tail. Amazing animal, and it looks cuddly! If I'm not mistaken, Stupid Moniker, that's also an ankylosaurus (though I heard there was another armored dino that I hadn't heard of growing up.)
Anks were cool because of that battering club they had for a tail, but how about those Stegosaurs? Armored plates vertical on the back and spikes on the tails? They rocked. Manny, the brontosaurus is now called an apatosaurus. Diplodocus was nothing but one big long neck and tail. I agree that if you're looking for lumbering plant eaters that kind of stand out, the Brachiosaurus would be a good one. They had that blowhole on the top of their heads and forelegs that were bigger than their hind legs.
ok this is refreshing, first origonal thread title in a long time. barvo Triceratops was my favorite, because in all the books and stuff they killed the kind of the Dinos. The Tyranasaurous rex. wich would have been the coolest if it didnt have the little hands, and the whole " my name says king of dinos, but I clearly get punked by the Triceratops" thing going against it. PEACE
