Well he admits that he got it from someone else during Simon's critique (he may have even said it explicitly in the little "training" montage before he performed) but regardless of that, almost every single song they do on that show could be considered a rip off. It's just a matter of trying to do it justice, and I think Castro did that and then some. His version was easily better than that Israel guy, in my opinion.

It's Blake for me.. Overall it would be Kelly with the most consistently great songs though..

Most versions are done to try to enhance a song. I think any newly done versions that doesn't end up sounding better is a failure.... at any rate, RIP, Israeh =(

my favorite has to be Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" immediately after she won. The voice you heard is what it was back in season 1. There were not much digitally enhanced voices and the show was not as rich as it has been since season 1. You wouldn't believe how much difference a better sound system could change in a voice.

 

How does this guy not get mentioned?

 

I haven't watched this show since the second season, but I enjoyed Clay Aiken's "Bridge over Troubled Waters"

He should have won.. when he didn't I stopped watching the show.

Not only that... Kimberly Locke should have been in the finals with him.. so that ticked me off as well.

It wasn't that I disliked Reuben, I just didn't think he deserved to be in the final two.

 

looking back at it, it's not that great, but i probably rewatched this performance the most...
