How Do You Want It Hit'em Up Heartz of Men Picture Me Rollin How Long Will They Mourn Me So Many Tears Lord Knows Old School Do For Love R U Still Down Hell Razor Black Cotton Smile w/ Scarface I Get Around Wonda Why They Call U b**** Some of my faves. It's amazing how good it all still sounds.
that's the crazy thing about it.. you listen to a lot of music out there, and a lot of people try to imitate and copy and stuff, but no one can ever come close to what this man did.. his songs are so freakin' deep and meaningful.. seriously, how does this compare to "she li li li licked me like a lollipop"? it's really crazy.. not trying to act like one of your typical "nothings beats the old days" crap, because Pac's stuff is actually old school for me.. I wasn't old enough to listen to rap when troublesome, starin', and others came out.. I'm supposed to be a fan of what my age group like right now: Lollipop, "full time hustla, posted on the block, now that gangstaaa", and "make it juicy for ya" .. and those come from the most highly regarded "rappers" today.. what seperates Pac from everyone else is that he rapped poetry, it wasn't some incoherent rambling about 24" rims and humping fatazz b!tches, it talked about life.. heck, even old school songs that talked about rims and whores and coolness and stuff were great songs.. "Juicy" by BIG is a great example... It talks about superficial stuff mostly, but then it drops the greatest lines ever "we used to fuss when the landlord dissed us, no heat, wonder why christmas missed us, birthdaaays was the worst daays, now we sip champagne when we thirstaaay.." but then again, nothing compares to Pac's poetry.. it all talked about life.. every song was like a freakin' philosophical statement that deals with a certain aspect of life.. others were great deep stories.. others were just plain diss songs that laid the smack down on his enemies.. carry on...
well said dude - well said! do you remember the early days when we didnt seem to be able to get along? i'm agreeing with most of what im seeing from you lately.
I can pretty much listen to Me against the world, All eyes on me, and Makaveli straight through, classics IMO. Favorite songs: so many tears Me against the world Dear Mama Temptations Staring at the world Changes
here are just a few songs. dear mama unconditional love life goes on me and my girlfriend to live and die in la all eyes on me after 2pac and biggie passed, hip hop just shriveled up and died. there are still a handful of rappers out there who are really good, but it seems like theres more garbage.
I always thought "Long Kiss Goodnight" got'em tho... I gotta go with... "No More Pain". Track 7, Disc 1 on AEOM. Also, for obvious reasons I have to throw in "Smile" with Scarface and "Violent" off of his first album.
