My desired profssion would be a racer of motor vehicles. What would just make me happy for the rest of my life is a microbiologist/epidemiologist/public health officer.
We are talking fantasy land, here, but this is everything that I want: PhD, Art History PhD, Philosophy PhD, Theology/Philosophy of Religion PhD, Medieval Studies PhD, Literature MS, Conservation Science Give me unlimited money and at least 40 years and I could do it. In the real world it will only be one or two of the above.
I don't see any of those fields having an actual, tangible, physical benefit as a profession other than perpetuating the existence of itself.
Well, that would just get me to the profession of teaching (5 subjects, no less) and being a conservator in my spare time.
